threw the wickets away looking for quick runs.(See edited post)India were bowled out
I think it depends on what happens in durban. Steyn didnt want to be the guy to expose morkel and tahir. Going fornthe draw absolutely sucks, but w just need to win in durban now.Yeah, I mean come-on. 19 deliveries, 3 wickets in hand - and you block it out? I would understand not trying to lift it over the keeper for six, but at least try to get singles and cash in on bad balls ffs.
They started playing for the draw after Faf got out. I will blame them if they didn't go for the win if Faf was still inIt's so weird, though. If you're going to play out the draw, you surely do it when Philander comes in, not when you need less than a run a ball for 19 deliveries?
Two top edges over the keeper and the game is done.
With the SA taileders, you never know. They bat like rabbits caught in headlights when under pressure.Yeah, I mean come-on. 19 deliveries, 3 wickets in hand - and you block it out? compared to the other guys in the team duminy has been a piss poor batsman recently.Duminy is a better batsman and bowler than Robbie.
He has always been. Apart from that epic hundred in Australia, he has done nothing in both tests and ODIs. Just hope he fails again and is kicked out of the team. It would be so annoying if he scores a 50 and keeps his place.compared to the other guys in the team duminy has been a piss poor batsman recently.
he is probably waiting for game time vs zim, bangla, nz and the netherlands... if we play those teams by all means... play jp.He has always been. They were less likely to win at that stage, thoughThey started playing for the draw after Faf got out. I will blame them if they didn't go for the win if Faf was still in
the singles were offered to vernon not to steyn. who had to face short wide balls. it was not easyonthepads balls he cohld plant the front foot and knock around.1st Test: West Indies v Australia at Bridgetown, Apr 7-11, 2012 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Saying "oh they shouldn't have gone for it because they might have been called chokers" is just a sign of underconfidence tbh. If they believed they could win - and for the majority of the chase they clearly did - then that shouldn't have bothered them.
I mean, we're not talking about 25 off 3 overs. We're talking 16. Most of that can be accrued with risk-free singles, many of which were on offer at the time.
on the other side. does it prove they have confidence if they believe they will win in durban to take the series and decide that a draw will be good enough here?1st Test: West Indies v Australia at Bridgetown, Apr 7-11, 2012 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

So Australia chased 310 in Wanderers so that makes South Africa weak and Australia better? 310 wasnt a record chase and its 148 runs short of what South Africa needed to chase, and we were 1 player short. This team chased 414 in Australia so theres no way anybody should call them weak. India played very negatively and they had to, to be fair to them, and every captain would have done what Dhoni did, each and every one of them, exept maybe for Ponting and he is in record for the second worst loss in Test cricket chase.1st Test: West Indies v Australia at Bridgetown, Apr 7-11, 2012 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo
