It's not his day, is it?

Ordinarily you'd say SA are one of only a couple of sides who could afford to have a rocks-or-diamonds bowler like Tahir in there. But Morkel going on a Tahir gash match has rocked them, not to mention that they've already collapsed to Ishant Sharma. It's not exactly the sort of thing you can prepare for.

It is a bit pissing off that, if India win, there will be an asterisk on this match with Morkel's injury . Wish he had been there.

Who cares. Part of the advantage of batting time is that the bowlers are more likely to break down as time goes by. And they still have Kallis, Steyn, and Philander, and Tahir & Duminy were always expected to roll their arms. That's plenty deep.

He went over on his ankle in the 14th over of the innings. Hardly breaking down because of India batting time.

Winning a test in SA asterisk or not is nothing special anyway. Over the past five years or so SA has dropped tests to Pakistan, West Indies, India, Australia, Sri Lanka and England. They're actually more vulnerable at home than away in many respects. They are always vulnerable when they select Tahir.
