NO, that would mean England will keep the ashes... unacceptable. We would need to get the tar and feathers ready.Well in Stokes kid. Double it

To be honest, Lyon has taken some huge wickets this series.Me neither, only two Aussie spinners have ever impressed me, Warne and McGill, the rest have either been simply average bowlers or total garbage, Mallett was pretty good so was Yardley but you never expected big things from them.
If they pull off a miracle I doubt any Australian would watch the rest of the series, I sure wouldn't. I stopped watching the last ashes series half way through from disgust. Surely no team could ever choke that badly.Come on England, pull off a miracle! Keep the series alive.
Stokes and Bresnan are capable of a big partnership, imo.
Daniel Doran and Aaron Heal?only two Aussie spinners have ever impressed me
At least having this lad isn't a case of pinching him as he moved to England aged 12 so the main development was done in our system rather than yours. He has surprised me on tour so far, looks to have a good head for the game. What is it with New Zealand and allrounders? Along with South Africa they must've produced most of the decent ones for the last 20 years. Shame the Christhchurch ginga is playing for the Poms though
I hold out some hope for Lyon, don't get me wrong but great Australian spinners have been very rare ever since O'Reilly and Grimmett, A great spinner is a bowler who destroys batting line ups on some sort of regular basis. You are right, no point in having five seamers. To be honest, Lyon has taken some huge wickets this series.
If Harris, Siddle, Johnson and Watson isn't enough of a pace battery to take 20 wickets then I'm not sure what another seamer instead of Lyon would do.
But they clearly are enough to take 20 wickets as evidenced by these past 3 tests so it's really a non issue.
who are they ?Daniel Doran and Aaron Heal?
Brad Hogg and Xavier Doherty IMO.Daniel Doran and Aaron Heal?
RidiculousIf they pull off a miracle I doubt any Australian would watch the rest of the series, I sure wouldn't. I stopped watching the last ashes series half way through from disgust. Surely no team could ever choke that badly.

Not in the context, it was a response to the English bloke hoping for Stokes to get a double century, if he does England win. It's that simple.Ridiculous
40 years of being the ultimate fairweather fanRidiculous
He's absolutely, unequivacally a product of the English cricket system so I have no problem with him playing for England. At least having this lad isn't a case of pinching him as he moved to England aged 12 so the main development was done in our system rather than yours. He has surprised me on tour so far, looks to have a good head for the game.
The reason great spinners are great is because they're rare. Australia is not going to consistently produce spinners of the same calibre as the SC teams. I don't mind a bit of settling, to be honest.I hold out some hope for Lyon, don't get me wrong but great Australian spinners have been very rare ever since O'Reilly and Grimmett, A great spinner is a bowler who destroys batting line ups on some sort of regular basis. You are right, no point in having five seamers.
No, it's still completely ridiculous. Stop posting dross. Not in the context, it was a response to the English bloke hoping for Stokes to get a double century, if he does England win. It's that simple.
And you'd stop supporting your team because of a freak innings? Pretty harsh IMO.Not in the context, it was a response to the English bloke hoping for Stokes to get a double century, if he does England win. It's that simple.
