*Official* Third Test at the WACA

I know it says village idiot as your location but do you have to prove it with every post?
its crazy talk but another 100 runs by these two can really give the Aussies an uneasy feeling Swann and Broad have batted like rank tail enders here but both are due and 60 70's from either is not that far fetched a thought.

Pietersen dropped?

Hahahahahah.

OK.

Let's drop our far and away best player and keep negative Cook in there.
I'm guessing you've missed most of the cricket these last 6 months mate.

Most talented? Maybe. Best? Not much sign of that nowadays. Nor much sign of any desire to rectify matters, judging by the mode of his dismissals throughout this series. Time to move on.imo and find a bunch of guys who actually want to bust a gut playing for the side. Obviously other will differ - maybe they enjoy watching this sort of crap.

Well there is not no reason exactly.

Have not reached the giving up on him point yet but can't remember the last time he actually looked really good, has had a fair few injuries and is 33, maybe he is starting to reach the end.
They were writing off Steve Waugh when he was younger than that and of course Waugh made them all look like the idiots they were. But then again Waugh was a better player.

btw what's with the WACA pitch this time? All the talk of it being terrifyingly fast, but that doesn't seem to have been the case at all

Broad's quite fit atm isn't he?

Yeah I can see Broad strolling out tomorrow and whacking 70 with a badly bruised foot.

This new crop of posters is not quite keeping with the exalted standards at CricketWeb forums.

Anyway, this thing is done and dusted. They might have had a dog's chance if they'd only lost three with Pietersen and Bell still in but 250 is way beyond the last five.

...unless Prior remembers he is an international cricketer and ladyboy grows a set

Ladyboy needs to become Gordon Greenidge and play a blinder on one leg to give us a chance.

More chance of me knitting fog.

Remarkable achievements are only accomplished by those who believe in what most see as impossible.
The way Stokes is playing, he's bound create chances for the opposition, so expecting too much from him.
If hypothetically England were to even get 100 runs from the target, they'd still have a lot of trouble finishing it off. It is incredibly easier to tee off when you know there's no chance of winning than it is to score freely when there's a possibility of a win. I'd still back Aus to win if England were 400/5 with Broad injured.

I don't see what the problem is at all with studetto's last few posts. The Ashes are still alive and I have no idea why its a bad thing to say "lets create history". That's the exact sort of mentality everyone who's team is behind should be thinking.

If Australia were in the exact same situation that England are in, I would be dreaming of us pulling this off. The first hour is going to be important, if England survive the first 13 overs, two batsman with their eye in against the new ball is going to be helpful for them.

Given Prior's form you can't see him lasting that long, and Stokes has to mi**** one eventually given how he's playing IMO. I'd consider it a failure if they're still batting by lunch tomorrow.

It would be a failure for Australia obviously if we can't take a wicket inside 25-28 overs with half of them being with a new ball. A big failure.

Same as the last ten years.
Oh, OK. I suppose I was comparing how we went here against your quicks last time and how we've gone against them in the first two tests this time. This test hasn't looked the same at all, but obviously I'm no expert at all on local conditions. Just wondered.
