I have to say, that is exactly the sort of bowling that I love to watch. The only thing missing was a cartwheeling stump or two.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
As a former 'fast' bowler, there's nothing better than seeing batsmen beaten through the gate. A cart-wheeling stump was indeed the only thing missing.
Beautiful bowling. Legit beautiful. If I were to compile a video of fast bowling to show the uninitiated, this would be included.

Wow, I guess work chose a good day to make it impossible for me to follow the cricket! Not much I can say really apart from congratulate New Zealand for completely and utterly annihilating us. No excuses, we got absolutely whipped.
This might sound a little strange, but part of me is glad this has happened. When you look at it in the cold light of day, an amazing individual performance from Darren Bravo and some perfectly timed rain enabled us to draw the 1st test and thus paper over the cracks. Sammy was even saying stupid things in the media like he doesn't think New Zealand can play better than that and that he was needed to bowl in this team. Also the fact we picked an unchanged team despite the very obvious problems is very revealing. This total and utter spanking from a team that are ranked below us is surely the last straw for Sammy? 3 innings defeats in 4 tests. If this means a long overdue change in captaincy and the selection panel than I'm willing to put up with this, however painful the viewing is.
Anyway, congrats Kiwis, enjoy it. We know what it is like to fail to win a test for so long and it's a hell of a good feeling when that run comes to an end. I wonder when our next test victory will be?

econ rate of 2.86 and 20 overs per inning which I gleaned from a link Mike posted earlier of his stats in the last 2 years.

Dowlin has regressed very badly, can't even make the Guyana side. He's well into his 30s now. I never really rated him, he only really got into the side as a result of the strike by the senior players and was kept around as a reward. Decent enough I guess but just not test class.
Fudadin is on standby for this tour. If one of the middle order batsmen got injured he would have been flown over. I think he's another one who is decent enough without being test class.
If there were more injuries (hopefully there won't be as we've got more than our fair share already) the next middle order batsmen the selectors would be looking at are Leon Johnson and Jonathan Carter. You can see from their FC averages, that things are looking pretty bleak. In all fairness, they have improved over the last couple of seasons and are pretty talented left handers. They've played pretty well for West Indies A without getting hundreds. Carter is also a very useful medium fast bowler and a brilliant fielder.
Our pitches are so bad that we might now be in the position where the selectors are having to pick the back up players based on technique and talent rather than performance in FC cricket, hence batsmen like these two have a chance. Despite recent results, I reckon our strongest test XI is pretty good, the problem is an astonishing lack of depth in West Indies cricket. The reserves just aren't good enough.
