Drop Panesar, pick Tremlett but give him The Doctor along with Anderson, Stokes and Broad to bowl with the wind. I see no point in picking Ballance or Baistow, blokes who'll be shot ducks on a feisty WACA. Stokes has something about him, need to back him a bit.

Is Stuart Broad thick? Lets put this in perspective .You're trying to save a test match...... Before you've even got your eye in or assessed the pitch, in the first over of the day, you hit a six. Then you try to repeat the shot and are caught on the boundary! The only thing he could have done worse was if he had charged out and been stumped. Utterly clueless......

I've said it before, and it's not really relevant, but one week we had a night watchman get stumped 3rd ball for 12.

you'd think broad's batting the night before would have attracted more criticism than his batting today

I think in that situation they just think "oh well no point sticking around....... is the bar open? See you in five"

My spies are telling me that former international bowler Brett Dorey has been placed on stand by for the WACA test.

Am I the only Australian still feeling a bit nervous here?

Yes, we have it over the Poms in every way possible at the moment. But considering they only need 2-2 to retain the Ashes, if they somehow win in Perth the pressure will suddenly be back on us. Even with a draw, it is not impossible that they could steal a win in Melbourne and Sydney. It's a bit of a dilemma for me, as I will be in attendance at Melbourne; on one hand I would like to see us go in 2-0 and likely see the Ashes decided there. But on the other hand I'd just as sooner se us go in 3-0 so I can watch it without stress!

Same side. Nothing to worry about guys.
The 300+ innings that England finally made was on a pitch they should have been capable of scoring a few more on. The WACA pitch is what we've been waiting for this whole time.

Nervous? England have won once at the WACA in the past 43 years, and Australia have a psychological advantage over England not to be underestimated.

They generally don't win at the WACA and after the display in Brisbane on a bounce pitch and AO on a road I'm expecting a heavy Aussie win. They massively miss Trott and while Root did well Perth will be a different test for him. With Cook out of form and inconsistent work from Bell and KP the top order looks fragile. With a tail that started at 6 in Adelaide I just can't see how they can score enough runs to pressure us. They might be able to turn some of it around but you don't fix fear of short fast bowling in 3 days.

I'm not nervous I'm wondering when they will start playing some competitive cricket.

Not that I didn't think Bailey was worth a call-up for the tests, I now think that Hughes should have been given a run at number 6. I know he has flaws, but I also think he would have offered as much as Bailey. Whenever he has been dropped, he has done well and scored runs. That says a lot for his mental strength. Bring back Hughes, he's young and should be with this team. But it won't happen unless we lose a couple of games. :(

With the momentum Australia have at the present time heading to Perth it's no time to start rolling the dice at the selection table. Should they win in Perth they'll then have the luxury of thinking for the future with their selections for Melbourne & Sydney.

Dismal effort really

pretty fair to say the ashes are coming back where they belong.

Ben Stokes is a spud and if the ECB have any common sense they will drop Swann for Monty as he is better suited to our pitches.

Oh and Root at first drop..LOL
