Never really thought about it, but presumably because it'd mean that some teams would end up with only a day's rest between Thursday and Saturday.

I think it would have been fairly easy to move a popular team like Arsenal to Thursday night to get higher TV exposure, since they play on the Sunday and Hull City play on Monday.

It isn't a massive deal, I was just curious since Europa teams play Thursday night and Sunday.

Fair enough. The radio just made it sound like it was a total defensive nightmare, and Chamakh managed to bundle it in with his head after a scrum in the goalmouth.
Which may all be true, but in these parts we're in no position to be choosers.

The way things are looking at the moment, I'd fancy Palace to stay up ahead of Fulham and Sunderland tbf

I think I actually prefer Pulis to Mark Hughes. Objectionable as he is, I don't get the feeling that Pulis is under any illusions as to what he is (i.e. a bloke who's extremely hard to warm to, who can get the best out of extremely poor sides by getting them to play a horrible brand of football). Mark Hughes on the other hand, gives the impression that he rates himself as a prodigal coach and an absolute world beater. He's an arrogant pig.

Would prefer Stoke to go down.

Agree with Sledger. Pulis doesn't have an ego like Hughes does. Not a fan of the style of play but accept he is good at working with what he has.

Pulis doesn't have an ego?

Pffft. Pull the other one, it's got balls on. Man's a study of chippy self-regard.
Still less so than Hughes though, imo.

Anyway, Bendtner starting for Arsenal tonight. Wenger obviously hoping for the goals to come from midfield.

I'm saying it now, instead of after his perfect hattrick; I really don't think Bendtner is quite as bad as everyone thinks. In a way I kinda think a slight in joke has gone overboard to every living person in the world considering him the worst footballer in top flight football. I always used to joke about him due to him not exactly being the most clinical and clearly viewing himself a bit better than he should, but I never thought he was absolutely terrible. I mean, we played a large enough chunk of the 09/10 season with him up front and we stayed in the tittle race for most of the season.

His attitude/work rate is crap.

He's not the worst footballer in the world in terms of technical ability, but he doesn't give a ****.
