What a game that was. Always good to see Liverpool lose, Sewer Rat bound to put in a transfer request again in January.

Actually tough to call what's been the biggest CW mistake of recent years in football threads, this or Cpr saying he doesn't want United to sign RVP.

Still think CPR is ahead, because he did say he'd rather ManU sign Carroll.

To be fair, I was hardly in the minority in not rating him. Given his performances over the last few years, there was very little to be getting excited about. His turnaround has been remarkable really.

I'll also point out that it's not necessarily too late for me to be proved right (though I obviously hope this does not happen); a great player half a good season does not make etc...

I was just about to say that. It is literally one of the worst things in sport I think.

It may have positive consequences though. If he continues to score goals it may help mask the fact that he's a donkey and well past it. I'm quite looking forward to the prospect of him starting against Arsenal in a few weeks.

Garth Crooks again proving he's the footballing brain of his generation with his description of why Rooney's in his team of the week. Well that and the whole selecting his defense based on how many goals they score (yep, Kyle Walker made it).

"I was speaking to my uncle Ben on Saturday and said that Aaron Ramsey was almost certain to be the unanimous choice for footballer of the year. He took the glass of champagne out of my hand and said: 'You mean Wayne Rooney, don't you?' I told him that he had made a very good point and promptly went home."
