Nah definitely thinking India in India. SA is probably a better all-round batting lineup but if it comes to chasing down a ****ing huge score against tired bowlers on a slow subcontinental deck, India has it.

Australia and England should both be considered as possibilities, if you're of the opinion that this could happen. Both prone to absurd collapses, to help set such a target up, but have line-ups that can pull out huge scores on their day.

If anybody ever does they will need to have a KP in their side so, ridiculous as GIMH's optimism might seem, I am reminded of what Jimmy Greaves used to say It's a funny old game Saint

Agreed, this kind of chase is most likely to happen at somewhere like Perth where batting often gets easier as the match wears on, a bit like that 4-414 chase SA pulled off a few years ago.

Requirements:

- Strong batting
- Weak bowling w.r.t. to the pitch and conditions
- 4th and 5th day pitch to be a decent one for batting

Of the current teams, my vote goes to India doing this in West Indies, possibly Antigua.

India's bowling combined with a Gayle special could do the trick.
Ishant Sharma and Praveen Kumar decimated them the last time they toured. It's just not going to happen anytime soon.

5 dropped catches
This 5 dropped catches thing was a bit of an exaggeration tbh, it was a normal innings with a couple of genuine drop catches(rest were half chances). Its just that some people moaned about it because South Zone lost so badly and got hammered despite of the horrible pitch conditions on day 4 and 5.

Yusuf Pathan making a double hundred makes it lose all credibility though
I think he has been quite lost in the past 2 years, but before that he was a big contributor for Baroda in all formats, and he would always make a huge score once he would get his eye in regardless of the pitch or the conditions. He was a bit inconsistent, but effective. Right now he is completely out of touch and doesn't look even half as good as what he was before.

As I say this, he has again pulled off something similar, on a square turning and uneven pitch where his team got allout for 150 in the first innings and the opposition were skittled for just 60,
he scored a run a ball 100 in the second innings to get them in a commanding position out of nowhere. His unpredictability is frustrating, both for his team and for the opposition.
