*Official* First Test at The Gabba

Woodster

International Captain
Tremlett is a shadow of the bowler that he was here in 2010 - the "lost" 5 mph means batsman are comfortable getting forward to him whilst the short stuff is of no great concern

Worry for him an England is that he was basically the same for all of the last English summer so it may not be a case of being short of a gallop
Yes reports did suggest that he was down on pace for much of last season and he seemed to be quite pedestrian in the tour game against Aussie 'A' team.

Gotta hand it to Clarke and Warner. If that partnership had been broken early we might just have had a sniff, and our tails up. Played really well.

Rain?

I could stay up no bother if there was no lunch break. It ****ing kills me, especially after an early start and a few light refreshments.

Just trying to decide whether to stay on the couch or go up to bed. Haven't slept there since Tuesday
Yeah, I know what you mean. I fell victim to the break on Wednesday/Thursday but it was probably for the best on a weekday.

Best thing to do is stay up and about. Make something to eat, go to a shop, etc.

Was planning on watching nearly all of today, that session has really put me off the idea.

But in all seriousness I'm pleasantly surprised. I was expecting an Australian implosion but Clarke and Warner have steadied the ship to the point where Micky Lewis could well be our first change bowler and things would be looking rosy

Good partnership this. Barring a miracle Australia are safe - 500 seems an attainable lead for Australia, and even 400 should be more than enough to defend.
