Warne goes from being a very interesting commentator with excellent technical/tactical insight to an embarrassing cheerleader in the same sentence

Two different commentary teams confuses my fragile mind when I read some Aussie comments in this thread

If they foot down after lunch they could be 400 by tea so 500 with about 10 overs left before close of play. No reason for them to bat tomorrow.

I think Tremlett's looking a little bit one-dimensional these days. That might be a bit unfair in just judging him off this Test, but apart from trying to just hit good areas on a decent length and get a bit of extra bounce, I'm not sure what other plan he could utilise. It is a decent plan A mind. Nasser suggesting something different such as round the wicket and bang it in for a bit, but I think that'd be a waste with Tremlett, at 80mph bounce or not it won't phase either of these two batsmen. The bonus of Bresnan is that he can use the orthodox swing if that's around, he can bang the ball in and bounce players out, he can bowl a heavy ball on a length when the conditions aren't helping and he gets appreciable reverse, this is all when he is fully fit and on song though.

Especially when rain generally appears late arvo/evening

Bat all day today and hour or so tomorrow IMO
Some of the possible lost play can always be made up the next morning by starting 30 mins early.
The target shouldn't be less than 500 IMO with so much time left.

Tremlett is a shadow of the bowler that he was here in 2010 - the "lost" 5 mph means batsman are comfortable getting forward to him whilst the short stuff is of no great concern

Worry for him an England is that he was basically the same for all of the last English summer so it may not be a case of being short of a gallop

I've got the perfect solution; stay up :p
I could stay up no bother if there was no lunch break. It ****ing kills me, especially after an early start and a few light refreshments.

Just trying to decide whether to stay on the couch or go up to bed. Haven't slept there since Tuesday
