Kraigg in for the injured Gayle is a no-brainer. I really think he will make a big difference to our test match lineup if he gets a run in the side. He has more patience and batting common sense then the rest of the batting lineup combined (minus Shiv of course). I wouldn't pay to watch him bat, but I think he will get the job done and be a World Class performer.

Watching Jason Holder bowl today just re-affirmed my opinion that he would have been a solid option for this tour. I just can't believe Gabriel is there ahead of him.
The whole thing is a shambles Beamer!!..how they could contrive to keep Best and Sammy is simply beyond me!!..Holder looked a class above yesterday!!..even though he went for 48 runs (many of those down to inept fielding) some of the deliveries he bowled were of the heighest class, the one that Dhoni nicked was as good as you can get. The boy needs a run in the test side now to develop his game further!!..but the selectors and Gibson would rather delay his debut and keep giving that waste of space Sammy a chance!!..it's utterly pathetic 8-) .

As for Kraigg!!..he's been the best batsman in the caribbean for the last 12 months!!..scored tons in the four day competition, tons for the A-team etc!!..he's not the same boy who made his test debut three years ago!!..he's grown from that experience and tbh even if he was exactly the same now as he was when he was 18 he'd still be good enough to get into this team when you look at what Gayle has served up lately!!!...i was dreading seeing Trent Boult up against him!!.

Anyway kiwi fans!!..i honestly think this series will be like having two boxers who have been beaten up in their last bouts and have something to prove in this fight!!..We've been murdered in India while NZ had issues in Bangledash and took a beating yesterday vs Sri-lanka!!..both teams won't be the most confident so i think the first test could be vital!!..whoever loses it could find themselves in big trouble!!.

The only thing that could work in our favor is we've faced the tougher opposition, it was exactly the same the last time we played NZ at home!!..we'd just played Australia and England back to back!!..with this being a three test series though i expect someone to come out on top..i can't see it being a draw.

WW if you don't win the first test I will be surprised. We only have two proven test match batsman in any sort of form and Kane is injured.

Yeah i must admit i'm glad Kane won't be there because he's someone who could frustrate the hell out of us!!..but it would be just like us to let the likes of Mccullum and Taylor get going!!..and with Southee and Boult around that wouldn't be good!!..both sides are delicate right now, NZ will be facing a younger batting order due to Gayle not being there but in a way that could help us because youngsters don't really have any fear these days.

One important aspect will be how NZ deal with Shillingford!!..he's got five 5fers back to back!!..he gets going again then the conditions might allow our pacers to finally give him some support.

The Basin has been quite friendly to out and out pace men. e.g. Johnson got a five for there. So I think some of your 140 plus men could find some success too. Shillingford will have to get us out with flight as I reckon with our pitches we might be able to sit back on the back foot and read him off the pitch.

When I orginally made my post I was going to include an extra sentence which was :"Our bowlers will test you however". If you want your bats to ton up in this series you will have to earn it.

Or in the case of the West Indies, a journeyman fighter who has spent 10 years getting knocked out over and over again on the undercards. It's 5 Test wins in 81 games, it's not just your last bout.

This is major Ghambiring, IMO. Yeah, Kane's a bit of a loss, but Brownlie's a decent player and if we play Vettori we bat pretty deep.

WIndies haven't picked a single pace bowler that's going to trouble the batsmen. This is going to be a thrashing.

It's a start, still not remeotely happy about Sammy keeping his place or Miguel Cummins or Holder not playing.

November usually means warmer days and less wind – for your edible garden, sowing seeds this month are basil, leeks, oregano, tomatoes, chillies and broccoli. Plant in the garden your, lettuce (year round except for the coldest months), coriander, silverbeet, spring onions, rhubarb.
Can Flem please tell us which West Indies player corresponds to which of those vegetables?

It may depend on whether Anderson is fit to bowl. If so then they can probably afford to carry Sodhi. If not, then his selection poses a huge risk as NZ would have no other viable 5th bowling options. But even if this is the case, I tend to think that Sodhi will get the benefit of the doubt.
