Was identical to his innings vs the Windies in 2011 when he was chasing the 100th. Looked imperious then got out from nowhere.Didn't see any of what will likely be the last Tendulkar innings. It sucks Still filled with lots of emotions.
yeah so true. Was identical to his innings vs the Windies in 2011 when he was chasing the 100th. Looked imperious then got out from nowhere.
Ojha is a one paced spinner. He needs very specific pitches like this to be effective. Godd defensive players have no trouble playing him like we saw in the England series. Equal to Ash at best. I think he is worse than him.Ojha proving why he's the best Indian spinner. He has great control over his line, length, and pace. And gives it a nice rip too. Ashwin might have more upside, but he is not the better spinner atm
Ashwin is a king when he is free to attack, but I have real doubts about his ability to defend and tie up an end.
Ojha was our best bowler in that series though, not to say he's better than Ashwin (he's not).Ojha is a one paced spinner. He needs very specific pitches like this to be effective. A one paced spinner? Did you see some of the flighted deliveries he took wickets with in the first innings? Those were beautiful to watch.Ojha is a one paced spinner. Ash was ****ing terrible in the England series yeah. What I was trying to say is, that was Ojha's best series as a bowler. Compare that with Ashwin's best series as a bowler and the difference in quality is pretty damn obvious. Ojha's best series as a bowler saw him constantly giving away 100-150 runs in an innings when he got 4+ wickets in an innings. When Ashwin gets wickets, he rarely leaks that many. Ojha struggles in pitches that have slow turn(because he can't bowl quick enough to compensate) or pitches with variable bounce(because he isn't as tall as Ashwin).A one paced spinner? Ojha was far and away India's best bowler in the England series. Don't even try to say Ashwin was equal to him. Ashwin was bowling his filthy line and seemed totally unaware that Cook is an incompetent at driving full and wide deliveries. Just get it full pitching on or even outside off. Instead, Ashwin was obsessed with bowling it on his pads hoping for a leg slip to come into play. On the rare occasion that Cook gambled with his feet and carved it out of the park, Ashwin would predictably fire the next ball down leg side, rather than force Cook to use his bow-legs again to drive the ball (he seemed to finally learn during the Kolkata 4th innings but it was too late then). Really horrendous tour for Ashwin. Ojha wasn't great, but hardly had a nightmare of a tour like Ashwin.
Overseas spin bowling is really about defense. Just keep things tight. Ojha does this far better than Ashwin. Ashwin is obsessed with attacking.
Ashwin has more skills and a better action, but if he can't keep it accurate, he could be the weak link in the Indian attack overseas. If Ashwin can gain full control of his line and length and be smart enough to bowl the right lines, he'll be amazing. I'm rooting for him
That was Ojha's best series as a bowler? He did pretty damn well when WI toured last time around.Ash was ****ing terrible in the England series yeah.
