In SA conditions, Ashwin can't outdo Kallis. But he is in with a chance in Indian conditions.****! The India-SA series will now be a showdown between the highest ranked all-rounder in the world, and the best all-rounder in the world. And if Ashwin comes out ahead, then damn, he would have earned it. My prediction, Kallis to be Shami's bunny in the series.

I think it's because we mostly play the game in the right spirit and have the biggest hitters in World cricket. Granted that doesn't help the batting much in test cricket when you're trying to bat time, but in limited overs we are as entertaining as it gets.
I can't stress enough how much the selectors are destroying our chances on this tour. Gabriel has been awful recently, his radar has been all over the place. This now means we have 3 pacers on tour, all of whom are 87-92mph speed merchants that don't move the ball much. In other words exactly what you don't want in India. Poor Shilly is going to bowl a record number of overs in the next test.

So Ishant has been dropped from the ODI squad. Correct call, but weird IMO. India named a second squad for the latter half of the ODIs against Australia and he retained his place in that squad, but hasn't played a game since. Why was he in that squad if he was going to be axed later without playing - or perhaps a better way of putting it: what's he done wrong in his 0 matches since last being named in a squad?

Would be nice if they selected something resembling a batting lineup too. Deonarine in for Permaul has to be a chance.
