I think you'll want to be batting right down to 8 tbh
Bhuvi can bat.

I think the biggest worry is Dhoni at 6 in South Africa though. He's just not even nearly good enough to bat there IMO and I don't think the benefits gained from having two spinners on those decks (minimal) would really make up for it at all. I'd be looking at six specialist batsmen, Dhoni, Ashwin and three quicks.

Mishra pretty handy with the bat as well tbf.

Dhoni Ashwin Mishra Bhuv Yadav is a really strong tail. Even replacing Mishra with Shami will mean it's one of the better tails going around.

I think our only chance of beating them is to spin the **** out of them.
They piled up about 600 recently against Ajmal on a UAE pitch, and they played him and Herath pretty well at home recently, I think the only chance of winning is a decent performance from your pacers and an excellent performance from your batsmen

Yeah even if the tail is strong, you still want to make sure the top six or seven actually belong in that spot IMO, can't always rely on the tail

Have to have a long batting line-up in SA against their bowling attack to have any chance. Look what a difference an extra batsman has made today and compare that with WI innings yesterday who were a batsman short.

Compare that to Pakistan. If Pakistan even bat down to 11, the quality is so low that it wouldn't make much difference.....

WI suffering now and an innings defeat seems imminent

Seen some glorious cover drives today from these two. Different styles but elegant in their own way.

Rohit showing that he should have been picked ages ago. Sachin who?

Looks like India might have a very strong 3-5 but who will get the gig at 6 when Sachin is gone? Hope it isn't Raina.

Well judging from the squad for this series it'd either be Rahane or they'd go back to Dhoni at 6 and two allrounders again.

Plenty of options available for the future. But the no.6 spot for the next 2 years might be a revolving door. The management will keep trying out different batsmen until one of Chand or the other kids come of age and claim the spot.

How hard was it for you to not name-drop Zol in this post?
