India's batting is still much better than Pakistan's in Tests though, and for India to chase 350 totals and Pakistan to fall about chasing 180, it still actually requires India to concede 350 and Pakistan to concede only 180.So India chase down consecutive 350 totals with ease while Pakistan fall apart chasing 180. Yet Pakistan are arguably a better all round Test side than India at the moment. Certainly away from home. Which technically all of their matches of course are. I guess that shows how relevant ODI's really are to Tests.
Although I still feel that we are a better overall test side than India atm but this feeling seems to be passing away every single day when I see our batting plumb to new depthsIndia's batting is still much better than Pakistan's in Tests though, and for India to chase 350 totals and Pakistan to fall about chasing 180, it still actually requires India to concede 350 and Pakistan to concede only 180.
ODIs aren't very relevant to Tests, but I don't think that's really a good example of why. Pakistan's bowlers performing while their batting lets them down and India's batsmen bailing out their bowlers at home seems very much in line with what happens in Test cricket really.
Umar Akmal's name being in the same sentence as Virat Kohli's is a huge insult to Kohli.Do you guys think Umar Akmal is a failed version of Virat Kohli, as much as it hurts to say?
You know I think a test series on these conditions would be extremely close.Although I still feel that we are a better overall test side than India atm but this feeling seems to be passing away every single day when I see our batting plumb to new depths
I am quite used to it now..it doesn't even bother me anymore...the indifferent attitude that players like Afridi, Akmal, Hafeez express towards repeated consistent failure used to hurt me before but not anymore because I have realized they are not worth my time..Did you see Shoaib Akhtar on GEO when he saw Pakistan lose? He was just heartbroken, and he claimed that we can't simply just rely on Misbah. How our batting slumps this low is mind boggling - It's almost as if they have never faced such bowling ever. But they of course have no pressure on their places as noone is at the moment adequate to replace anyone. They feel no shame, and the way Afridi and Umar Akmal got out, was absolutely disgraceful. That was shambolic batting and its a shame we have to stand for it. I will never forget this loss.
He has the goods, he's just got no temperament to capitalize on his starts and 50s which is a shame as it's so important in Tests. If he can learn when to put his shots away he'll be such a useful player for Pakistan. I don't know whether he's actually going to learn that in Pakistan's FC scene though, where he can probably just continue to bully his way to big scores.Do you guys think Umar Akmal is a failed version of Virat Kohli, as much as it hurts to say?
