Who else is though? I don't think it's Vertonghen. It's hard to compare him to Paulinho or Soldado so early on. I suppose Lloris has a pretty good case.
Well IMO when all were fit Vertonghen and Sandro looked even more important. I agree with you about Lloris. Heck, when on form even Aaron Lennon is.

I think when Dembele has the ball he's class but he doesn't get near enough touches in that team. Might sound a bit biased but I think he'd do better in a team like Liverpool or Arsenal than Tottenham whose main aim is to get from defence to attack in as minimal time as possible.

Really don't see the point in trying to sign him. Is he even any good anyway? Besides, in the best case, he's just another teenager, the squad needs proper established players ffs.

And now there's talk of bringing in Kaka as well...just so desperate.

I'm going to bury my head in the sand for the next few days I think, and just hope that by some miracle when I tune in again on Tuesday they will have miraculously bought Benzema, Di Maria, Ozil, Suarez, and the Alessandro Nesta from 2001.
I think while Arsenal should have gotten players in earlier and the fans can justifiably feel let down; at the same time it's too late to still whinge and some of the names they're being connected with are quality. The only downside is they didn't get a good pre-season with the team.

Some Chelsea fans actually looked upset then, is this thing important now or something?
Seems to have been given more media hype than usual this year, none of which is deserved given that it's the Community Shield for Europe. Calling it the Super Cup "final" just adds to the lolz.

Draxler would be an absolutely amazing signing.

The Pep-Mourinho angle and the fact that they met in the CL final made it a much better sell than most previous games. But even so, I don't think anyone would have cared if they'd lost 3-0. Sometimes the importance just develops itself over the course of a really exciting game, especially when extra time is involved. It's like how when a movie is good enough you stop realising that the characters aren't real and the story doesn't matter.

Stockport have got Harrogate away tomorrow.

Can't wait. Not that I'm making the long trip from Reading like. Especially after paying £50 for the train last Saturday to watch us get beat off Altrincham and Colwyn Bay.

Massive.
Watching the mighty Alty teach you how to play footie was worth the £50 alone.

Well no it wasnt, but Alty beating Stockport is always a good thing to celebrate

Playing in the qualifying rounds doesn't automatically cup-tie a player for the competition proper anymore.

But Schalke weren't knocked out, so yeah he would indeed be cup-tied.

I quite want Leeds to do well this season, and I really want them to win today, have I finally lost it, or as much of it that I ever had?

Oh dear.

Oh dear, oh dear.

I know Harry's a client and QPR are now the epitome of moneyed neuvaux riche trash, but surely the R's are still less of a force for evil in the land?

Probably, but I like Mcdermott, thought he was treated shabbily at Reading, and in our meetings with Leeds, they really didn't come across as bad as many of the other billy-big bolloxes around the lower divisions, particularly ****ing Bradford.

Bates has gone too. Mind you my softening isn't doing them much good here, and they've brung on diouf to make the ****ishness level higher.

Yeah Bradford are awful, Leicester & Forest were the worst for me though.
