Have spent the last 3 hours trying to edit a media film from 12 minutes to under 10 making careful, precise cuts, it's the most arduous and annoying thing, but at least I have good cricket to watch

He bowled well though. He doesn't always have to take wickets for the England attack to fire but when he's actually having an off day and bowling poorly I think it can struggle a bit.
Yeah, it's interesting. I actually think Broad and Bresnan have bowled well today, and Swann was always going to be a threat. But there's just been too many four balls, a lot of them from Anderson earlier, and it's meant there's rarely been a lot of pressure.

What's the pitch like btw? Rumours about the dodgy looking track proved to be false?

Really pissed that I've been unable to watch so much of the series.
Pretty good I'd say. Slightly two paced, the odd one keeping low and it'll turn quite a lot later on. Decent pace and carry for the most part as well.

Really hard, but dry. We've seen some big turn already and there's largely been very good carry too, even if it's a bit two-paced. One of those pitches where you either want to be bowling fast or bowling spin; trying to bowl medium pace and nip it around will make you a good support bowler at best on it IMO. Very good toss to win though; could turn into anything by Day 5 judging by some of the turn we've seen.

They have lost 6 tests in a row...

We have seen they are capable of playing good cricket but even you are your most negative know that England are a better side.

Cook going to make 200.
He's due .....

I know we should be, but I also know that Lord's was not representative of the difference between them & us. But that wasn't my main point anyway. It was the extent of the reaction in so many sections of the media after what was essentially one really bad performance.

As for the 6 losses, one was against SA, which can happen. One was TB, which could have gone either way. And the other 4 were in India, where even the great Aus sides have been known to struggle.

Yeah; I tend to think the rest of the attack needs Anderson to be bowling well in order to be successful more than Anderson needs the rest of the attack, if that makes sense.

True with most bowling attacks, if the top dog is bowling well, they often follow

Cheers. Starc selection may prove handy after all then. Should get some decent reverse.

I can't see us taking the 2nd new ball today unless a couple of wickets fall in the next half hour or so.
