Been out since lunch, not seen a ball and first one I see is Bairstow going. Ooops. Need Jimmy to knock top off Aussie reply then.

It's important, but I mean, we wasted the new ball a bit, and if the conditions stay the same there definitely should be swing on offer throughout the innings

Much hyped? Even the England fans haven't been hyping this batting line-up. Cook and Trott are in form, and batting beautifully, but after that we've got Root who's new to opening the batting, Pietersen who's not played a lot of cricket and coming off a long layoff, Bell who's dreadfully out of form, and Bairstow who a lot of us still have our reservations about. I've not seen much talk hyping this line-up TBH.

I'm trying to re call the last time Jimmy took a michelle against anyone. Which probably means I've forgotten one from a couple of months ago. But he doesn't really run through sides nowadays. Maybe if the forecasters are right about the weather, then we're better off having 30 overs at them tonight rather than prodding around for another 20 runs and different conditions to bowl in tomorrow.

But this is feeling ever more like 1989. A lot of big names living off past glories coming badly unstuck against what's supposed to be the worst Aus side to tour since the 19th century

This is the one weakness of the DRS. Hawkeye says it's hitting, it's out FFS. Wtf is this umpire's call bollocks all about? Really annoys me.

Hate the umpire call part of the review system. Hawkeye is at the point now where it's ridiculously accurate, and so if the ball is hitting the stumps, it's out. The review shouldn't consider what the umpire has given, it should consider it as a pure appeal for a wicket. That was pitching in line, and hitting the stumps. It's out.
