No, whether there's movement off the pitch has everything to do with the pitch. The bounce is irrelevant though should be pretty consistent ideally.
Look ****, even by your ******** definition (which is wrong) the pitch would still be flat. Barely a ball has moved of the deck - its swinging sure - and Haddin is taking it ankle high pretty consistently. It's ****ing flat.

Starc did get seam movement earlier didn't he?

I always thought a flat deck was one that had consistent bounce and no assistance to the bowlers. Dunno though.

Please can we **** this boring monotone out of the commentary box. Come back Mark Nicholas, all of your ****ery is forgiven. Well, some of it at least.

Did Strauss just say he would be tempted to give Starc a blow?

Confident thing to say on debut Andrew.

Be interesting what lines they look to bowl here to Trott. Will they just throw the odd very straight one to him to try and trap him LBW falling over, the obvious risk being that Trott works the ball superbly off his legs and rarely misses out. So with that in mind will they look to starve him in that area and keep it just outside his off stump.

Loose shot from Cook. Have a feeling he's not gonna score many runs these Ashes; kinda like Strauss in 2009/2010.

Speaking of Strauss; he feels this pitch has some uneven bounce in it. Low bounce yes, but uneven? Guess we'll see by day 2-3.

He actually debuted back in the NZ series and claimed that Jimmy Anderson was 'anal' about the condition of the ball.

You're all over the place mate. You were trying to claim that a pitch having consistent bounce makes it flat, which is obvious rubbish. Anyway, I have functional eyes as of a test one week ago and they're telling me that the ball is swinging *and* seaming at the moment (yes, they can happen at the same time)

Very very early in the series for so radical a suggestion to what is nevertheless a serious problem.

Did he? haha. Still the debut joke works in this situation.

That Trott cover drive was the shot of the morning. Good from the Spurs fan (his only redeeming feature).
