I wonder what Cook's average would be if you only counted his runs and wickets when he played an off-side drive. I'd be surprised if it was over 15.

It's flat. Theres pretty low, consistent bounce. That means it's flat. Whether there's swing has **** all to do with the carry in the pitch or how flat it is, especially from the get-go.
No, whether there's movement off the pitch has everything to do with the pitch. The bounce is irrelevant though should be pretty consistent ideally.

King Pietersen

Yeah it is a shame he has to do the whole playing cricket thing still.

It could be Nick Knight though, we should not forget this.
True. Hopefully he'll become a fixture when he retires. Good point.

Cook gone! Big scalp for Australia. Pattinson looking good!

i never understood why it would be first blood to australia. how exactly could england draw first blood in this situation? is it a 100 partnership? a half century to a batsman? a six?

Loose drive from Cookie lured into having a go at it, Pattinson deserved that bowling well here.

Yeah, you make a good point. Also hate it when they say the bowler wins the battle after a batsman gets out for a massive score. The only way they can win the battle is with a not out really.
