he was really poor in the other game...letting Woakes bowl to the new batsmen, bowling Anderson out well before the finish (although I suppose Dernbach is meant to be the "specialist" death bowler hahaha)Cook gotten away with this somewhat - not sure why Tredwell was left with 3 overs in the final 8.
Not half as much as the rest of the side did.Taylor threw it away, really.
True, but the rest of the side is not half as good as Taylor. Not half as much as the rest of the side did.
Yeah Morgan has to fire if we are to win the CT IMO. The balance of our side and the top 3 make the role of finisher more important than ever, and while Root and Buttler have a lot of potential, neither have done it as much and as well as Morgan have in the past. Him failing today would have meant a score below 250 in all likelihood, whereas we nearly got 290 because he fired. Difference between winning and losing really.HMM, some promising moments this match, still not great though. Will hope that Broad and Finn were just rusty today.
Bres, Buttler and most importantly for me, Morgan coming into form is good.
Morgan's lack of form has really been worrying, he was our best one-day player for a while, and was the perfect foil for our more stolid players.
Taylor is an average death batsman. He's so one dimensional in his method of attack that it rarely takes long for him to hole out.True, but the rest of the side is not half as good as Taylor.
This. Especially with Pietersen out of the side.Yeah Morgan has to fire if we are to win the CT IMO. It's so stupid the way he does that when we know he has every other shot in the book.Taylor is an average death batsman. He's so one dimensional in his method of attack that it rarely takes long for him to hole out.
