I'll take Maurice Tate who, ironically enough, doesn't feature on the Lord's bowling board - he's on the batting one.

Sorry for the delay, I'm currently umpiring the final of the mighty 10Cs.

Farokh Engineer (Team Blackout). Picked him ahead of another candidate as I think he'd be better suited to keep for some of my bowlers.

01. Charles Bannerman (Awesome Debutant)
02. Trevor Goddard (Captained Against Aussie)
03. Neil Harvey (Teenage Sensation)
04. Dennis Compton (Merchant)
05. Steve Waugh* (9th Wicket)
06. Kevin Pietersen (Illegal Immigrant)
07. Ian Botham (Lord's Honour Board)
08. Farokh Engineer+ (Team Blackout)
09. Bill O'Reilly (Leggie)
10. Shoaib Akthar (Dismissed)
11. Sydney Barnes (Tangy)

Really like your attack Sam as it has a great combination of attacking [Akthar/Botham] and miserly [Goddard/Barnes/O'Reilly] bowlers. But all aggressive.

I also liked the idea of Charlie Griffith (5-91, Lords 1963) getting a run in one of our drafts, especially with Wayne Daniel bowling at the other end. Can't go wrong with Maurice Tate though.

I wish I had done some research as a decent keeper is available in 'highest score in debut game' clause! That would have enabled me to balance my team even better. *sigh*

Really nice team Michael with a top 5 to die for, and a wonderfully eclectic bowling line-up.

Seems a shame you couldn't somehow squeeze Gilchrist or Walcott into that No.6 spot (by some miracle) though. On-the-other-hand I don't know too much about Murdoch other than he scored some good runs at No.3 for Australia.

Yeah I'm quite pleased with the bowling attack. I like the combination of bowlers I ended up with on the whole.

The batting is what I'm not too pleased about as I'd have liked a few more defensive minded players in there and more standard openers. I reckon it's a good team as there are all good players in there but it's not what I would typically go for.

Prasanna or Saqlain?

Normally I'd select Prasanna but having Imran and Miandad in the side changes the dynamics somewhat. So on the basis of the this superb 10 wicket haul against India at Chennai, and a Strike Rate of 67.64, I'll go for Saqlain Mushtaq (9th Wicket partnership);

01. Geoff Boycott
02. Hanif Mohammad
03. Brian Lara
04. Dudley Nourse
05. Vijay Hazare
06. Javed Miandad
07. Imran Khan
08. Ray Lindwall
09. Jackie Hendriks
10. Saqlain Mushtaq
11. Joel Garner

Why? Neither of them really played that many games with him iirc.

Surprising pick.
Probably swayed by watching videos of Saqlain bowling today. But he did dismiss a line-up of very good players against spin bowling;

HowSTAT! Player Bowling Analysis

Tendulkar
Lara
Dravid
S. Waugh
M. Waugh
Hayden
Laxman
Azharuddin
de Silva
Jayawardene
etc

And here is Prasanna's line-up of dismissals for comparison;

http://www.howstat.com.au/cricket/Statistics/Players/PlayerDismissBowl.asp?PlayerID=1393

I. Chappell
Redpath
Lawry
Lloyd
Kanhai
Greig
Kallicharan
Sobers
etc

Personally, I don't think that there's a lot between them as off-spinners and both can do the job of dismissing top-notch batsman.
