Wonder how much of that is the pitch and how much of it Trott?

England won't mind, be happy to bat for 2 days at that pace or similar as it will put them in a very strong position. Not great viewing but from the series position it is not bad from an England point of view. Better off scoring at 2 an over than 3 an over and being 5 or 6 down trying to force it.

Well, I've long advocated bowling essentially half-volleys to Trott, so maybe it's a plan

By the way, Dhoni is a dolt to have bowled Ishant for such a long spell post lunch.

I reckon this pitch will turn more as the match goes on. It's almost as if India gave up on trying to genuinely outplay England and decided to take a 50/50 shot at winning the toss and rolling them in the fourth. Disappointing if so, especially at home.
