This is somewhat similar to the Ahmedabad pitch. Probably slightly slower and more uneven.

Duncan Fletcher must love these spinners. Slow and straight. No turn whatsoever. Just pitching it in a run-saving line, without an attempt to get wickets. He may have a problem with Jadeja's haircut, though.

Agree with flibbertyjibber. England would be glad to have 270+ on this surface, and India will have to do some good first innings damage with the bat to have a hope on winning here.

Wonder how much of that is the pitch and how much of it Trott?

England won't mind, be happy to bat for 2 days at that pace or similar as it will put them in a very strong position. Not great viewing but from the series position it is not bad from an England point of view. Better off scoring at 2 an over than 3 an over and being 5 or 6 down trying to force it.
