Yeah, there's a heap of guys who deserve to get in the midfield, it's always tough. There are some spots that you can argue about in other parts of the ground, but its very hard to say that anyone in the midfield, or on the bench for that matter, didn't deserve a spot.

The 'if it didn't happen in Victoria it didn't happen postulate' still holds amongst the flat earth media in Melbourne. He's a chance to win it for sure.
Yep, definitely. Most evident with West Coast dominating the AA team

Thinking of taking the young 'uns Friday night but they'll just be back from school camp and the young bloke owes me 50 on Saturday morning for dropping a soda last week off a kid who went on to make 50 for the other mob. So I'm in two minds.

One thing about AFL compared with some other codes is I quite like sitting behind the goals, gives a good perspective on the whole oval.

No, I'm from my grandfather's school I'm afraid. Draw my inspiration from the spray he gave us in under 12s...

"Get in the bloody shed...."

Team sits down after being rolled for 89...

"In 35 years at this club, that is the most gutless batting display I've seen from any side. Get out there and bowl this mob out, or it's nothing but fielding drills at training for a month. Wake up yo yourselves."

GAGF ****.

Don't be telling me that doesn't work. One kid bowled his first over of the season on the weekend and it was complete ****. And I told him so. You can't mollycoddle these kids - sure it's under 11s, but it is division one ffs.

Anyway, he lifted his game and bowled a bit better afterwards. If you think he would have bowled better if I'd said "Bad luck mate, sure you went for 19 in that over but you did your best" then you're kidding. Sport is about success, and if you are of a mindset that your kid's side gets smashed by an innings and you want to say he did well, then you're breeding failure and have no part in coaching or mentoring anyone - in sport or at anything.

I'm only disappointed you can't get away with more public forms of ridicule in this day and age for when a kid performs poorly and lets his team down.

You know it makes sense.

I don't give kids a spray when they **** up, but when a kid pretends he's injured I really unload on the weak ****. Got no respect for it. Gotta beat that **** out of them early.

I remember my brother broke his collar bone in a school footy match once. My old man refused to drive him to the hospital for a week because he was crying around about it. True story.

The thing is if a kid cops a good ball or someone bats well against them, then fine. But this kid wasn't putting in. There's no place for it.
