I don't know that was a shocker, sure it was out, you can see how keeper and slips knew, but I wasn't sure live. Maybe I suck at watching, but the not out I thought was understandable.

Can't remember c00k one tbh
Must have been the WI series then.

The Smith one wasn't a howler, tough decision for the umpire and a good use of DRS.

That's the point though, when it's a decision quickly reversed, people forget about it early, mistakes tend to be still blathered on about for ages. Smith's decision was clearly wrong however you want to paint it, was corrected.

How is it part of the bat when it's not touching the bat?
How is glove part of the bat anyway? Presumably glove originally counted as bat to make umpiring easier and because some (but not all) balls that hit glove would have otherwise gone on to hit bat handle. So why not just make rules easier and make glove count as bat all the time? Current situation has too much tedious splitting hairs imo (see all debates about whether Kasprowicz's hand was on the bat in 05 Ashes)

how do you feel about it being off the sweatband if the sweatband is connected to the glove and glove is on the bat
Yes and the sweatband is touching the armguard which is brushed by one of Bill Lawry's pigeons at the same time as it's collected by a bouncer from Morkel. Out too?

What the hell is going on? Anderson is consistently bowling 10kph quicker than Broad. It should be the other frigging way round!!!!

No, because the glove is protecting the bat, preventing the ball hitting a part of the bat.

I don't see why this is controversial, difficult or anything. If it's not on the bat, it's not the bat.

TBF Broad actually managed to bowl a couple of decent balls in a row, still down on pace though. Hope Jimmeh can get 5 deserves it.

you have to agree with the comms regarding having sweepers in this situation, not a fan in general of strangling type negative cricket anyway, but its a lack of game and series awareness to allow bottom order bats to rotate the strike at the start of a new day with a new ball.

Having said that it was good consistent bowling which brought the wicket, nice bowling and slipping
