**Official** South Africa in England 2012

Briony

International Debutant
Morkel to Prior could get messy. He won't get away with his stock long hops outside off.
SA bowlers don't seem to be good at bowling the dry line that England bowlers do. Even Steyn is a very attacking bowler and takes plenty of stick at times.

Yeah true. Morkel's the worst for it, and when he bowls spew it tends to be wide spew, so Prior really isn't a good match for him.

Shame KP went so early this morning, but his innings yesterday was unbelievable, very rarely does a bowler as good as Steyn get dealt with so dismissively. I desperately wanted to see him work hard early in his innings giving himself the opportunity to dominate later on but thought it would take a massive effort and display of skill to do such a thing to this SA attack. Didn't imagine he would do it in such a commanding fashion. You get the usual periods of uncertainty and nerves such as when he is premeditating his assault on Morkel and the short ball, but it was his day and boy did he prove his class.

Just on yesterday's play, the Warwickshire boys will be hugely disappointed with their dismissals and gifted their wickets away. Was hoping to be treated to a Bell technical masterclass, but sadly wasn't to be yesterday. Taylor impressed with his discipline and temperament and played very well alongside KP, again his dismissal probably won't please him too much either.

Prior started excellently this morning, nibbling away at this deficit now.

50 for Matty, then. Been a typically jaunty Prior knock.

Now double it, etc.

Tahir bowls yet another NB as I type. Think that's three this morning. Woeful, tbh. No other word.

Missed the KP dismissal at the time, just caught it now & not the ball KP wanted first up, got a cracker, shame would have loved another morning of him, still Prior going along nicely and need to gets support to make at least a ton.

Any chance of Tahir being wided if he keeps pitching outside leg? Getting a bit monotonous.

&, I'll probably jinx him into a wicket now, but Philander undergoing some serious "reversion to the mean" here. In no way looks a sub-20 ave bowler.

Well done.

Bresnan guilty of seriously going into his shell there.
