Haha did someone argue KP should be dropped?
I think that guy did during the Pak series who was right about how he & Bell would pan out.

Other than that, I don't think so, although a few of us have criticised him.

Mind you, if the rumours about him turning down an England contract so he can play more 2020 are correct, then it might all be over sooner than we think anyway.

Haha, a less exaggerated, modern-day Tony Greig.

Will Petersen be able to open and will Kallis be able to bat 4 if they spend much of today off the field?

So this is the chance for England then with 3 of the 7 bats in the SA side injured/struggling. Got to push on and get them batting today then as it could be the only chance we get to draw level in the series as Lords will be a road as usual.

NO.

Rudolph will open, not sure if they will be allowed in before 7 or not. Philander at 6 with 2 injured players after could be dodgy.

Add in the keeper batting at 4, and this is a nightmare for SA.

If Smith can walk, Smith will open.

EDIT: Just caught up. Indeed. Think we're exaggerating slightly, though it could well be disruptive.

Smith will open but will it harm the footwork, not that he has much anyway.

Certainly if you were SA this is a case of get out of this with a draw anyway possible and hope the walking wounded recover for Lords.

I really don't get the deal with internal injuries and what they mean.

What happens if you come into the match with a niggle and it flares up?

he can open, time off the field applies to bowling not batting - and it also doesn't carry over from prior day(s)

SA are still nearly 70 ahead, tbf. Far from impossible they might still end up with a first innings lead. Bat until lunch tomorrow, 250+ lead and give England a sticky couple of sessions.

Draw massive favourite (2/7 with the bookies) but SA @ 12s look better value than England at 9/2.
^ This.

Thinking of changing my username to Cassandra, tbh. No-one ever believes me.

Steyn too straight early doors; wants to keep off both of this pair's pads.

Beefy said there is basically no wear in the pitch so even if things worked out for SA you'd doub they would risk some sort of teasing declaration.
