That's the one. Why did you never start a "Batsmen better than Mathew Sinclair" thread? He'd be the best in the world by now ffs.
Then in the darkest hour, I will lose all hope, post abuse at a random player and the random player will respond. Its all good, because we're going to win this test series.
Dead serious. You heard it here first.
There are no batsmen better than Mathew Sinclair.* Taylor comes close, but thats it.That's the one. Why did you never start a "Batsmen better than Mathew Sinclair" thread? He'd be the best in the world by now ffs.
McCullum definitely won't open. Probably should, but won't. You can lock in the top five as Guptill, Flynn, McCullum, Taylor and Williamson. What happens beyond that depends on how many bowlers you decide to play.If our best opener doesn't open I'll type words on the internet.
Excellent. Thank you for posting this, because now I will get my wish using the Sinclair and Hay Theory of PEWS predictions.McCullum definitely won't open. Probably should, but won't. I'm glad you qualified that. Certainly wouldn't be hard to find a few people on here to agree that Ingram is not a batsman and is thus not included. There are no batsmen better than Mathew Sinclair.* Taylor comes close, but thats it.
*Ingram not included because he is a batgod.
Judging by the whole country by its cricket, Bracewell as a surname is as common as Smith and Jones in NZ; there'd be two in every workplace.Randomly found out the other day that I work with his cousin. She's been here for a couple of months now - has the same surname, but I never made the connection. Just a wee tidbit for you there.
As for the Test series, I really have no idea what to expect. Hope Nethula plays. Had about enough of the one-spinner approach yielding figures of 40-11-60-1.
Whatever he was, he was still the best run scorer in the Plunket Shield when he retired.I'm glad you qualified that. Certainly wouldn't be hard to find a few people on here to agree that Ingram is not a batsman and is thus not included.
AWTAWe don't seem to be capable of being competent at multiple formats at once so choosing tests would be nice.
Indeed he was. I shudder to think how he'd have looked against Narine though.Whatever he was, he was still the best run scorer in the Plunket Shield when he retired.
Swinging hard as always probably. Wouldn't have had to worry about how to defend Narine at least.Indeed he was. I shudder to think how he'd have looked against Narine though.
Nah SA are popgun. Didn't you get the memo in the other tour thread?AWTA
I thought we earned some respect against SA.
I think they will go with that except I don't know about the number three. Edwards struggled recently and it sounded bad. What's the likely WI team?
Gayle
Barath
Edwards/Powell
Bravo
Chanderpaul
Samuels
Ramdin
Sammy
Roach
Rampaul
Narine
I think that's about right. Maybe Fudadin or Deonarine in the top 6 somewhere.
Yeah it'll be interesting to see if they look at it as a learning experience and give him another chance in comfortable conditions. Certainly if he was a Kiwi he'd be cut already, only to return in 12 months.I think they will go with that except I don't know about the number three. Edwards struggled recently and it sounded bad.
Would have to have been tried as a make-shift opener first. Then dropped, then recalled to bat in either the wrong format, wrong batting position or - if he's really keen - both.Certainly if he was a Kiwi he'd be cut already, only to return in 12 months.
So is this guy any good?Hesson is new coach. Good luck to him. I agree with Bahnz that a young less-well-known coach can be just as successful if not more so, compared to someone with a bigger reputation. Likely to really want the job and get stuck in - certainly shouldn't be any tendency to rest on laurels. It's more a question then of expertise/experience - hopefully he has something good to offer there despite not coaching internationals before.
Anyway, he's gonna have a hell of a job to do
You know what the really funny thing is, though?Would have to have been tried as a make-shift opener first. Then dropped, then recalled to bat in either the wrong format, wrong batting position or - if he's really keen - both.
