Spot who didn't watch the series down here.Philander is so overhyped it is unreal. Never expected him to run through us as he wasn't running through county sides earlier in the season. He has only beaten up the poor Aussie and NZ sides on perfect tracks to bowl on for christs sake.
So basically you are admitting your team are useless then getting out to him so easily.Spot who didn't watch the series down here.
Have you seen NZ bat?So basically you are admitting your team are useless then getting out to him so easily.
Exactly, all Philanderer had done was bash minnows, soon as he came against a good side he was toothless and wicketless in the day.Have you seen NZ bat?
*facepalm*Exactly, all Philanderer had done was bash minnows, soon as he came against a good side he was toothless and wicketless in the day.
The number two Test side in the world are minnows? England are good yes but they're not that far ahead of everyone else.Exactly, all Philanderer had done was bash minnows, soon as he came against a good side he was toothless and wicketless in the day.
Nothing, just he looked ordinary yesterday and he has NEVER had to come back and bowl deep into a 2nd day in a test before and with his fitness issues he doesn't look like the type to improve through a game. It's been the first day of a test match ffs, what is wrong with you
They aren't a good side, won't be ranked number 2 for long. The number two Test side in the world are minnows? England are good yes but they're not that far ahead of everyone else.
Fair enough but they're not minnows. And they've got enough bowling to **** anyone up. If they find/develop/genetically engineer a batsman or two they'll be bloody good. They aren't a good side, won't be ranked number 2 for long.
Seriously can't remember the last time that happened.People are quick to jump on the England attack if they have a bad day
Well of course he isn't going to be as good as his stats suggest, because they are otherworldly atm, anyone can see they won't stay where they are. It doesn't mean he won't still flatline at a very high level though. Casting doubts is fine, but practically writing him off as a bowler in general with stuff like "soon as he came against a good side he was toothless and wicketless in the day" is just silly.Worth remembering that Pollock spent most of the day saying Philanderer has fitness issues and isn't as good as the bare stats suggest, and that started before the toss too. If he has doubts then why can't anyone else?
Don't really disagree there, on what we have seen though the batting looks weak and the selectors seem confused as to who to pick to replace the great old players.Fair enough but they're not minnows. And they've got enough bowling to **** anyone up. If they find/develop/genetically engineer a batsman or two they'll be bloody good.
Well the press guys claiming he was basically a bog standard English seamer must be wrong and jumping the gun too then. I guess we will see today and over the rest of the series if I am right but on yesterday's evidence he has an awful lot of improving to do as he has been playing cricket recently and doesn't have the excuse that Steyn and Morkel have of coming in after a long break and being underdone.Well of course he isn't going to be as good as his stats suggest, because they are otherworldly atm, anyone can see they won't stay where they are. What's Cook like at starting again after he's already got a score?Don't really disagree there, on what we have seen though the batting looks weak and the selectors seem confused as to who to pick to replace the great old players.
Anyway, back to today and hopefully we pile up 500+ and see the pitch deteriorate a bit.
Too right, and people are also quick to point out how reactionary, biased and stupid it is when it happens.People are quick to jump on the England attack if they have a bad day
A lot better than Strauss usually, remember the 294.What's Cook like at starting again after he's already got a score?
Better than Strauss I'd hope.
Fair enough but when a guy is bowling at mid 70's after tea it means he either hasn't got fitness behind him or something is wrong. You wouldn't expect a guy of his speed to drop off so much pace wise when you only bowl 16 overs in a day would you?Too right, and people are also quick to point out how reactionary, biased and stupid it is when it happens.
Which is what's happening here.
