Last year Starc was regarded as being injury prone so, by default almost, was allowed to have a full pre-season and hasnt stopped bowling sinceSounds about right. Looks a great test prospect but not a shorter game man yet. Leave that to a few specialists/older heads.
Enough cricket to play without him risking injury in the hit and giggle cup anyway.
It's not so much the fact that they've broken down, but that they've broken down straight away upon return. It suggests they probably needed some more strength and conditioning work before being rushed back. I tend to think bowlers are perhaps rested too often at times but if anything they need more time off when they do happen to get injured than they're getting.so don't pick them for the two spring 'tours'?
Love the idea of someone so familiar with the grade setup getting the gig. He will deliver.
Contract list is a bad sign on that frontIt's more the captain and coach coming on board I like. I mean, surely they won't keep on selecting 7 bowlers?!?
It didn't help that we lost half our batsmen....Contract list is a bad sign on that front
Well then it gives us more ammo to use against the captain and coach!Contract list is a bad sign on that front
Yeah, got another gig playing 2nd XI last season. Not sure what his plans are now he missed out on a contract though.Cam Merchant's having another go at trying to crack the NSW team?
Isn't it this Daniel Hughes? Daniel Hughes has beaten injury to become a First grade star - Local News - Sport - Athletics - Cowra GuardianA bit disappointed the NSW selectors went with Daniel Hughes, a 33 year old, who have a fairly average grade season. Reckon they should have given a contract to Cameron Merchant (28), Sam Robson (23) or Ahilen Beadle (25). All had good grade seasons last year. The first two also have solid first class records overseas and are top order batsmen.
Happy with the other selections.
CricInfo says 33, though obviously it may be incorrect, particularly given he hasn't played yet.Isn't it this Daniel Hughes? Daniel Hughes has beaten injury to become a First grade star - Local News - Sport - Athletics - Cowra Guardian
23 I thought?
