***Official*** Australia in England 2012

I don't know anything about Woakes so just looked at his cricinfo profile...

At only 23, he has a FC bowling average of 24.32 (237 wkts from 64 matches) and a batting average of 34.24 (2089 runs, 4 centuries, 8 fifties)

England must be doing something right in the development of very good bowling allrounders with Bresnan, Broad, Swann and now Woakes

Hope Johnson doesn't get to play tonight. You can't risk him in a must win game at the moment.

It is a day-nighter, surprising in early July when it's generally light until after 9 anyway, but at least it means we've only lost an hour so far. What's the fewest overs they can play, 20? I suppose they can start that any time up to about 7.

Speaking of Australia's batting problems, what the **** happened to Callum Ferguson? Looked a really promising one day batsman. Didn't think Shaun Marsh had done too much wrong, either. Surely these guys are better bets than Smith and Forrest.

Marsh, lol

Ferguson had a pretty crappy summer, but is probably stiff to have been left out completely, yeah

On SKY they've said 7:09pm is the cut off for a 20 over game.

Problem is it's just abut rained every day for the past 2/3 months. It's saying something living in England but I've never experienced a summer like this, we've gone from no rain for the past few summers to this.

Being very charitable to the last few summers IMO - I reckon we've had about six bad 'uns on the trot.

But then it were summer every day when I were a lad ...

For England it's been pretty good the last few years. We haven't lost too much cricket to the rain have we the last few years. Had a bit of rain early last summer when SL was over, then not much after that. There's been hose pipe bans across a lot of the country for the last few years hasn't there.

Teams warming up while it continues to rain, bit optimistic I feel. Noticed Jimmy's there as well, looks to be fully fit.

Darn, bang goes chance of being number 1.

Seriously though, had it been a day game it wouldn't have mattered. Too wet all day in Midlands. :(

Yeah. Last Summer had too many hot days for me, I like it dank. Even though this Summer maybe pushing it a bit.

Good that her and on the domestic thread we're discussing the weather, way to keep up a stereotype.:)

Last thing Warwickshire needed following the WI Test effective wash out - serious financial losses on a newish stadium.

Think at this stage of the cycle, i.e. a fair way from the world cup, they have prioritised Test match cricket with international exposure for Bailey and Forrest.
