As predicted, Watto's middling score means **** all again

Our batting has been dire in the face of honest rather than threatening bowling on flat decks

Hopefully, we'll play to our strengths next match and actually pick the 5 best bowlers from our squad

Ridiculous to think that the bowlers who are in line to be first choice for the test team (Hilf, Pattinson, Harris, Starc, Lyon) either havent been picked for this series or havent been given a game but it is what it is and we've been thoroughly outplayed

Man can you imagine the haters and naysayers if that were to happen, it would be ****ing hilarious.

Ravi again can't see us home, how many times as that happened recently, great innings non the less.
Shows the state of the game atm

Dont think Eng would rate as favourites for an ODI tourney outside their own country and most people wouldnt even suspect that they had a chance of going to no.1

Agree, until GIMH mentioned it I never thought about being number 1 at all as we aren't that good. In 18 months time we may have a chance in the World Cup as we have a good attack and may have improved the batting enough to have a chance in Australian conditions.

On what you lot have on show you have a lot of work to do.

Subject to injuries, bowling will be fine as Cummins, Pattinson and Starc are 3 potential greats and Lyon has the makings of a fine bowler

Major issue is the batting

Whilst Clarke is a fine player and Warner is one of the most damaging players in world cricket, there is a big gap where up and coming players are concerned as Mussey cant go on forever

Forrest and Bailey arent bad but they are a step down from a young Clarke etc

Really need guys like Khawaja and Burns to put their hands up

Swann is a selfish prick. He'd probably prefer taking 2-30 and losing than bowling in the powerplays taking 1-50 and winning.
LOL oh yes mate he certainly comes across as a guy who's only out for personal glory and not arsed about team success at all, poor post tbh. Ever thought it's a Flower team tactic and he's no say in it.

Yeah I was shocked when I read it on cricinfo. I guess a good home record takes you a long way in terms of rankings, in all forms of cricket at the minute.

Ever since ravi has been recalled to the ODI side in 2010 his record has been quite good, average up, and significant rise in strike-rate, looks a much improved bowler too.

Deserving of his one-day spot anyway.

Yes he's done quite well, he's defo improved, that away average and s/r is pretty alarming though.

Btw I missed the Morgan review, what happened?
He was hit on the pad and given out lbw. He immediately called for a review and that showed a faint inside edge on his bat. It took ages but he was eventually reprieved and the 'out' was reversed.

I'm not sure why it took quite so long, or why the SKY commentators banged on about it for so long. One look at hotspot and you could see the mark the ball made as it passed the bat. It was small, but it was clearly there IMO.

It vanished straight away and there were all sorts of odd specks around. No snicko either I believe. Definitely shouldn't have been overturned IMO.

Goota laugh when Beefy bases his decision on the quickness of the player to review

If that was the criteria, lady boy would have 500 test wickets and 10000 runs already

This was after Bresnan dropped a tough chance and swann went off on a hissy fit, swearing and just generally giving off a terrible attitude. Read his autobiography and tell me he is not selfish and self absorbed.

You just seem pissed at me because I've been critical of Yorkshire.

The normal awards that everyone else has
Where's Mike Hussey?

Get rid of Forrest and Doherty, please. Smith and Clarke are more likely options than Doherty.

Get rid of Mitch Johnson, for good.

Warner
Wade
D. Hussey (7)
Watson (4)
Clarke (6)
Bailey
M. Hussey
Smith (5)
Lee (1)
Cummins/Pattinson (3)
McKay (2)

Seven legitimate bowling options (three spinners) and stronger batting. We really don't need Doherty.
