We need a proper wicketkeeper behind the stumps.

On that subject - why doesn't Prior play ODI cricket? In tests he bats at almost 100 per 100 balls quite often so I don't understand why he doesn't play.

No it didn't. You're looking at it as a biased English supporter, albeit one who has umpired at a decent club level.

The very worst which could be said for Gayle was the impact was simultaneous. It was a dud call.
Incorrect.

I'm looking at it as an umpire would.

And my final comment on the subject - Ian Botham made a very good assessment of it and was certain it was out (as did Bumble - who also looks at it as an umpire would....)

it was literally right into the middle of his gloves. as an int'l keeper, you should swallow them, unsighted or not.

Actually not an easy stumping.

When a batsman is yorked - even a pace or two down the pitch - the keeper gets a very late sight of the ball.

It's easy from the armchair.
Went straight in to the gloves and back out again. Even I've taken those stumpings in the past, as a decent 'club' level wicketkeeper (club may be stretching it, glorified park, basically :p) You see it a touch later, but it's no excuse when you have the ball, and drop it cold.

Was useless for quite a period of time in the ODIs. No idea why, he just couldn't adapt.

A wicketkeeping version of Bell, prior to this series of course.

Lol Botham. Font of impartiality.

You're looking at it incorrectly. Which means you probably are looking at at like an umpire. After all, two of them got it wrong too.

Crap bowling in this power play by England. Though I'm sure Bumble and Beefy think it's ok....

Utter dross from England in this powerplay.

Bowl a few proper yorkers and see if they can smack them for four or six. I simply do not understand why they don't bowl yorkers. Don't they practice? :@

Fixed that for you.

And did yo see what Botham said?

Made sense.

And as for your last comment - oh dear.....

It's a forgotten skill in modern cricket, seemingly.

Well, Jos, Davies and Bairstow would be better IMHO.

Craig does have a decent strike-rate in this form though, which is probably what keeps him in.

Anyway, luckily enough it could be a competitive total.

Flower seems to be laying down the law to Swann, but it's the pace bowlers serving up the buffet.

Cook to Broad "stop bowling so ****e"

Insightful message from the coach.
