**Official** West Indies in England 2012

In all honesty, yes West Indies team looks exciting and promising but their batting line up is vastly made up of all rounder guys who can bat/ hit or miss kinda thing. One day you will see, these guys taking a side to the cleaners and another day they will wobble and mostly they will lack consistency. Very unpredictable.

In One-day cricket they're very formidable though, Smith's cameo put them in a strong position, in Tests it wouldn't have meant much, but in this form, Him, Gayle, Pollard the Bravos can all change matches, they just need a couple of them to come off. Before the rain they were heading for a win, IMHO.

We'll need to bowl better next time, and yet again perform better in the last last part of our innings. With wickets in hand on a good pitch, with powerplays you should be making about 130 off the last 15.

I think they really miss Chris Gayle, who can bludgeon almost any attack into submission and despair, and on that Ageas (Rose) Bowl pitch would be odds-on for a fast hundred had he played.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

yet odds-on, I wouldn't like to be your Bank Manager.

England bowlers can actually seam and swing the ball, this isn't the IPL, thank gawd.

No doubt they're weakened by not having him in, but this considering a guy magnificent when he's not playing, is often silly. See Micheal Carrick.

Ah well, this looks a routine victory from here. No doubt excuses will be made by certain people but from an England point of view it has been a good performance, Bell with a ton and a decent team score and the 4 pronged pace attack taking 6 wickets in 26 overs on a pitch everyone is calling a road.

All well and good packing your team with bits and pieces players who come off every now and then but you need more than that to be a good side. History has proved that.

It's all over.

England win by 114 runs.

The WI crumbled a bit once Smith went and the ball certainly has done a lot more since the rain break. Good bowling by Bresnan in particular, but I was a bit disappointed by both Anderson and Broad before the rain came along.

Roll on Tuesday at the Oval!
