You hate Wade because of 2006. You can deny it, but it's true and you know it. And it's fair enough, but it's entirely seperate of what I'm saying.
The Lebron thing is obvious and I understand it, but people (not Cleveland) need to get over it. You had no dog in the race and it's just sad. The man made an (admitedly huge) mistake in the way it was handled. He was 25. I'm 25. I do stupid **** ALL OF THE TIME. People need to get some perspective. I get that the team is unlikeable, that's fine, but the vitriol people spout about them is beyond rational. Lebron does more good in this world than probably any person you know or ever have met, where is his credit for that? That doesn't matter though, he made a poor choice nearly 2 years ago. Sheesh.
Haha, I dislike Wade because he did well against my team? The line forms to the left of the list of players that have denied the Mavs a shot at the championship. The team that I respect the most in the league is the Spurs, who are their regional rivals and have dominated the Mavs over the years and denied them the Western Conference many times. Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli are some of my favorite payers to watch.
How about we just accept that people dislike Lebron, Wade, and the Heat not because of jealousy or resentment, but because of the douchey aura around them. And what does Lebron "doing more good in this world than anyone else I know" have anything to do with rooting for/against a player? So we're not allowed to root against a player if they have a charity? Let's keep this in perspective and remember this is about sports, not if they're angels off the court. Otherwise let's just make a rule that we should love and adore EVERY NBA player (and should never be allowed to boo them) as I'm sure all of them contribute to charity one way or another. People like having heroes and villains in sports. The perspective to keep here is that it's not personal (for the vast majority anyway), it's just sports.
The Decision was as much ESPN than anyone, Lebron thought he was helping out a children's charity by hosting it. The celebration was a Riley led initiative and was meant for Wade and his +1 who they thought they'd get. No idea why Lebron gets all the hate for it. The not 1,2 etc was the only mistake he made. He had every right to leave Cleveland, he lived up to all his obligations there and never once dogged it like Melo and Dwight, or asked to be traded like Kobe, KG did.
I didn't lay all the blame of the Heat being disliked on Lebron. I was listing the reasons for the
team being hated, not just Lebron. The celebration (Riley's doing) is part of the reason people root against them. Just like Lebron proclaiming "not one, not two, not three.." is part of the reason people root against him. And sorry, I don't believe the only reason Lebron participated in the Decision was just for the selfless act of giving to charity. I think a huge part of it was that he's full of himself and thus wanted a show. Even if we say it was ESPN that came up with the idea and even pushed him to do it, Lebron's still an adult who should be smart enough to realize how insensitive that was to Cleveland.
As to your point of Lebron having every right to leave Cleveland, of course he did. Conversely, people (not just in Cleveland) have every right to root against him for the way he left.
