Well this has been an impressive innings from Taylor, certainly wasn't aware he had the power he's shown. Not great bowling on display, but still an opening in the England ODI side has just come up, so great timing in all senses of the word.

**** me, whats with all the rain it's gorgeous down here.

Peter Trego, quietly, keeps on having a stunning season.
Only to say that I wish I'd thought of your avatar first. Presumably it's too late to start an internet campaign to get it to number 1 next week.

Mind you, I said that about 'Ghost Town' last April, and that came to naught.

Are the selectors stupid enough to use one day form as a reason to pick Taylor ahead of Bairstow next week?
i don;t think so. would be harsh on bairstow to drop him on the basis of 2 innings and replace him with someone who has no fifties in the county championship this year.

I'm looking forward to the composition of the odi team/squad against wi now with no kp. could be a load of players who have played for the lions in recent years in the squad/team.

I think there is one, but it's not getting much publicity. Shame.

Man the standard of bowling on show from both sides has been abysmal.

Very much in the Taylor fan club but even though he's scored a few here, he's very much in the same mold as Trott on the strike rate front, not sure he's the answer to replacing KP but he must be right up there though.
Played quite a few nice shots today, really entertaining stuff from him. It was good to see how he increased his s/r as he went along, went from 31 off 48 to 106 off 73, never seen that from him before.

It's finding another opener again just when we think we've got it sorted for once, I know Taylor can open but he's coming in at 5 for Notts in all formats atm.

Stokes has plenty of time on his side at 20, surprised he only averages 28 though. He's only had a couple of games so far and scored 9 & 22, England will be looking at him as more the all-rounder and I'm not sure he's even bowling again yet.

Buttler made a 71 the other day but again he comes in well down the order for Somerset, hope he gets a chance in 50 over cricket for England this summer, must be time for him he's a far better 50 over cricketer than T20.

Speaking of one day openers, it's Carberry's 4th 50 in a row

Well, obviously they could bring in the best limited-overs opener in the country in Davies, but that would just be silly.

Cook
Davies
Trott
Morgan
Bairstow
Patel

Would be my line-up batting-wise.

Could do, personally I don't rate him but we haven't got many to choose from and as far as the best opener, wouldn't go that far, Kieswetter's been more successful domestically. For me I'd be getting Buttler into that line up sooner rather than later.

Well last I checked, Kieswetter is still in our lineup so he'll just go back to opening. Which, if we're being honest, is the only place it makes sense for him to bat if he's going to be in the side. A dot-dot-slog merchant at 5 or 6 was a bit silly.

Cook
Kieswetter
Trott

Bresnan

Is what I'd be expected. Bairstow, Buttler, Taylor and Stokes to have a scrap for the two middle order spots. I'd love to see Taylor and Buttler but that's because I'm a fanboy for both.
Proudly so.
What of it.
Come at me bro.
