I would gently advise you to reconsider.

Lunch Day 3 ffs.
contradiction in terms

exactly....the pitch will be getting flatter from now

England will take their time to build a team and then WI will bat for at least another day which would barely leave England a session or two to chase something like 150-200...hence draw

To call any Test (especially at a ground reknowned to be tough to bat on Day 5) in which 16 wickets have fallen by Day 3 lunch "heading for a draw" is misguided at best.

Seriously. Just... what?

EDIT: Nope. Still can't get my head around that.

Why would the pitch neccessarily get flatter? Most pitches disintegrate and get harder to bat on as the game goes on, except for at venues like Lords and Antigua. While Trent Bridge has been extremely flat so far, I think some uneven bounce could come into play. It's unlikely to be a draw. One way or another West Indies will be batting before end of play today. If England manage a lead of 130, WI would have to bat around 4.5/5 sessions to make the game safe which is unlikely. If England are only 30 or so ahead, then West Indies will have a session today and whole day tomorrow to either get bowled out or set a target. If they manage to score at 3 an over they would set England around 300 to win, so England would be playing for a draw on the final day, and would have to bat well to ensure it.

So looking at those permutations it seems more likely for there to be a result than not, but of course depends on pitch deterioration.

Avatar bet?

I don't know why he's telling us instead of putting his life's savings on the draw at 4/1.
Because you can't bet in this region???

No, because even if it does turn out to be a draw that would be completely missing the point. Not going to indulge your black swan speculator.

What's Sammy saying to Strauss? Yep, they've agreed to call it off, it's a draw.

And for a flat, lifeless road at its best for batting, a hell of a lot of wickets have already fallen...

The TB pitch falls apart completely every single year. And the West Indian batting lineup is dire.

Most likely scenario is that England will put on a few more runs, bowl the Windies out fairly cheaply and chase a tricky total on day 4 and 5.

Can't help but have a lol at Luke's comments on cricinfo.

EDIT: about the time I earn my keep and moan about the field. Have one of deep point + deep cover, but both? Please. Bring up cover at least IMO, move point towards cover point if need be.

Seems odd that the WI are just letting the game drift here

Roach has had a good break and should be back on IMO
