Haha it worked, too. It's a good thing Sammy has more patience than the commentators.

Quality phase of play, two or three years ago they'd never have been capable of that.

Surprising given that's what England's bowlers have been doing basically every innings for the last two years...

Good job I missed the morning session- sounds like we've been absolutely dire. And it's a good job that WI didn't review that LBW against KP before he'd made a run, or they'd have a very healthy lead by now. As it is, they should be setting us a serious 4th innings total, so we'll see. I reckon the batsmen have been overconfident - they were poor in the first innings at Lord's as well.

Just goes to show - even on a flat deck, significantly bettering a 370 total set by the opp is no easy feat. People should be more cautious before casually predicting 500+.

Well I said 400 before the innings started and 500 this morning. May still get there as we have a bit of batting left anyway. It is the 2nd innings West Indies collapse I am waiting for.

Even if England only lead by 30-40 you fancy WI will be 3 down by the time they get a lead, be more of a surprise if they knocked off the defecit without losing a wicket than if they were 3 down to be honest.

On the whole WI have been very good today, made England work for every run. The Lbw yesterday against KP was clipping so it would have stopped with the on field call, if that's the one you're talking about, the other close one he got a nick on.

It was an "umpire's call", I think. So would've stayed with the original NO.

Anyway, good, disciplined stuff from the Windies. Bres 12 from 52 and Broad 1 from 9; both players who like to get on with things too, so no small thing to dry them up.

Well, Broad now 5 from 10, but the point stands.

wow pretty good effort from the Windies so far, wasn't expecting this at all after seeing the score yesterday.

Fair nuff - happy to give credit if due. And as someone said, talk of us batting through the day was always over-optimistic. But going back to the match state, if they cans set us over 150 in the 4th innings, this could be very close indeed.

Why was it overoptimistic when they'd just batted over 2 sessions losing just 2 wickets?
Because there aren't many occasions when a side bats for a whole day with the first 2 wickets already gone. Fresh start for the bowlers, new ball to come, etc.
