**Official** West Indies in England 2012

Without wishing to jinx the captain, but if he makes another 24 he'll be just one test ton shy of Hammond, Cowdrey & Boycott in the England all time list.

Definitely has no respect or time for them. Taking the Mick out of Samuels there. Rate England have gone at today a declaration after tea tomorrow could be on. Hundreds for Samuels, Sammy and in the bag for Strauss, Swann must be odds on.

Despite the wickets against Aus, Shillingford wasn’t that good, usually expensive, unable to exert control and fair few wickets were tailenders. Came into the test averaging over 40 in test cricket that despite playing on favourable surfaces. Not sure why he or indeed the Windies attack was bigged up before this series, it's ordinary.

Bishoo isn’t a better option, so Narine must be a certainty to start the test series against NZ.

Pietersen still doesn't have a clue against spin; he can get himself out at any time. Meanwhile Rampaul - the best seamer on view in this Test so far - is bowling an epic spell. If he can winkle one more out England could find themselves under real pressure by the close.
Must be watching a different game to me then, he's attacking the spinners trying to knock them off their lengths ,then feeds off them when they drop short against him. It's what he did in SL and if he comes off he puts England into strong positions. Apart from all that he's only played one false shot against Shillingford all day.

No need to be concerned, and he's gone past a pretty handy trio - Barrington, Gooch and the chap at the other end.

If we do lose one tonight I really hope they don't send out the night-watchman - would give out completely the wrong message. There are times when it simply isn't appropriate.

No, quite right.

Angry's really the only blocker in our lower order and, if we retained any ambition of winning, we're going to need to score big and fast tomorrow.

Still only day 2 though isn't it?

At this rate we will conceivably be on par by lunch and if we bat all day will be up around the 600 mark - a 200+ run lead with 2 days to play is far from insignificant.

Even Anderson could score 25 off 35 on this. England are already batting at nigh on 4 an over. West Indies will be staring at 250+ down if England bat through tomorrow (which obviously takes some doing but still) - I can't see any of them scoring slower than Strauss has done. Most of them will score considerably faster.

Personally I wouldn't declare below 700. Make them have to survive through the cloud cover on Tuesday.

Well, moot point now, anyway.

Definitely England's day. Think tomorrow will be the day that properly defines the test tho. If Windies can keep England to no more than a 50 run lead they're right in this. If England bat through the day for 300+ tho they're batting to save at best.

They'll be looking to bat once, from where they are, obviously they'll take it hour by hour tomorrow but if these two can get themselves back in again and start to build the partnership England would be well set.

WI will be looking for a burst at the batsmen in the morning then after that it's going to be all about the new ball.

They'll be seven down at stumps
Mystic Burgey has failed today.

Not seen anything bar last 20 minutes of our batting, great to see Strauss get another ton, takes control in the race for 23 now too.

Bat all day tomorrow and a bit of day 4 and then wait for the WI collapse before clinching the series.
