**Official** West Indies in England 2012

Windies should have declared, could have us 5 down.

I think we'll win but broad will hit the winning runs, as he's at ten then call it squeaky bum time.

Ouch. Nasty closing session.

What's gone on with this pitch? Where did all the pace come from?
Fiddy and Roach can turn it up when they want to.

Going to be an interesting final day. WI need to take as many wickets as possible with the new ball and then hope England choke.

Still backing England to take this though, probably 5 down.

Watching Roach bowl, it would've been interesting to see how much the English quicks could've gotten out of the track today if Strauss hadnt bowled them all into the ground and instead given them relatively short spells

Ridiculous that they each bowled 34+ overs whilst Swann bowled less than 20

Can't believe Trott wasn't given out!!!.. oh well i guess Shiv got away with one against Swann so i can't complain!!.. really proud of the lads!!.. was fuming after the collapse but we dug in there and Kemar is really starting to look world class now, if Gabriel keep it tight as usual and nicks a couple of wickets aswell then who knows what could happen?

It's these kind of performances that give me hope for the future, stick Gayle, Sars, Narine and Taylor into that side and then i think we could be decent.

As it hit the pad I said to myself that it was outside the line.

It was clearly outside (If you're an umpire).

Gayle = fading and rarely that good in Test cricket
Sarwan = never ahceived his potential andpast his best
Taylor = I assume you mean Jerome Taylor? 8-)
Narine = far from proven

Don't think they'd add much really.

There's some help, not a huge amount, for the new ball but when it got old the pitch got flat - Bresnan and Anderson bowled without luck today.

Gayle and Narine could definitely be big boosts. Agree with you on the other two though.

Averages over 40 in test cricket and when he last played a test for us vs Sri-lanka he hit 330, i'd say that's pretty decent!!..

Sarwan = never ahceived his potential andpast his best
Again he averages 40 at test level and when on form he's more than good enough to make an impact for us, right now he's the top scorer in county division 2 so that suggests he's getting back into form,

Taylor = I assume you mean Jerome Taylor? 8-)
Yes, that bloke who blew away England at Sabina park in 2009 and also has a test 100 to his name!! :D

Narine = far from proven
Already spun rings around Australia in our last ODI series and is murdering the likes of Tendulkar in the IPL right now, i have no doubt he will do well in tests too, the more time he has to bowl the more dangerous he gets, check his FC record for proof.

All in all i'd say with them lot we're a much stronger team.

How is that facetious or bollocks? Third man's not a catching position and, assuming the weather holds, if England bat out tomorrow they'll score enough to win. Windies only chance is taking wickets.
It's not that he was necessarily wrong. Just that he was coming out with stuff like "If it was up to me, I'd be trying to take wickets. Why don't they want to take wickets? What's wrong with them?"

Narine is supposed to be the next big spinner. Heard a lot of good things about him. However I do like Bishoo.

The captain got a decent score today, but how was his innings?

England was going to win in three days, then sometime around the middle of day four. This sounds a great effort by the Windies. Could be a thrilling finish.

Thought Strauss' dismissal was quite poor really. An opener, particularly one who plays on the back foot like Strauss, shouldn't really be getting out to a fairly regulation short of a length delivery.

Got to admire the way WI have battled today when it looked possible they could be blown away and the players could be looking forward to spending day five on the golf course. Chanderpaul was in typically resolute mood while Samuels played the more aggressor and hit some lovely strokes. Both Ramdin and Sammy have done their bit down the order to ensure England sleep a little uneasier tonight than perhaps they may have done, Roach doing his bit in the closing stages with the ball.

It could be quite a tense day tomorrow for the hosts, but really they should not have too many problems knocking off the remaining 181 runs on a pitch that rarely deteriorates enough to cause concern. Roach and Edwards will be fiery first up, should Cook and Trott nullify their enthusiasm in the first hour, things should be plain sailing...in theory.

Could be an exciting day ahead. Windies need to pick up a couple more straight away in the morning to have any sort of chance. Otherwise, I can see a standard Windies head drop with England easily chipping away at the small total
