GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Boycott going sick about Edwards batting technique and Vaughan says, "well he is a number ten!"

Cue Boycott, "he wants to be at 14 batting like that"

I laughed

Good bowling for us today. From what I saw I have no idea how Anderson only got two

Sobers made it but is now debated, so it may be 7.

Of those I'd say he's got a good case to be better than Allen, Illingworth and Mankad. I personally think he'll surpass those three easily by the end of his career, and Freddy.

Edit: None are poor players though, so it's a notable achievement:)

He's less than half way into his career, and only really hit his straps over the last eighteen months. I'd be very surprised if he were not to be rated higher than Flintoff by the time he's finished.
Mate I wasn't been serious but I agree, by the end of his career he should have put together a better set of stats and won more games than Flintoff, he also has that same Flintoff like ability of making a huge impression on games at any time.

Jimmy bowled like a god all day, was incredibly unlucky to just get 2. He earned a few of Broads half volley wickets.

Totally agree. Some players just have that X-factor. There are times when I just *know* that he'll take two or three quick wickets which will turn a close game in England's favour, or score a quickfire fifty that will add a crucial hundred to an innings total. He seems to know how to do it when the wickets or runs are most sorely needed. I just want him to keep improving his bowling and to take his batting to the next level, one where he's scoring centuries rather than fifties on a consistent basis. I'm quietly confident he'll achieve both.

Had Bravo put down and was cheated out of Chanderpaul's wicket by the DRS.

He bowled well, and should have had another couple, but as others have said he was a bit too short for perfection.

I'm more certain of his bowling improving, think he'll just average what he does with his batting, he is such a terrible starter, but will and does, change matches when he gets in.

Agreed, but it tends to even itself out in the end, and I think they accept that. Which is why they all seem genuinely pleased for each other even on those occasions when they personally have been unlucky. The camaraderie between the bowlers is truly refreshing to see.

Reckon he'll end up with Hadlee-esque batting stats once he's hung up his boots.

He has got the ability to come on and play a conservative innings but his strength is when England have found themselves at 170-8 and he's come in and set about a bowling attack, that his forte.

wtf Teja? Why the Jimmy hate?
It's the fact he lacks a chest, I imagine.

Broad must have stepped it up a fair bit later in the day. Wasn't too threatening early on. And Shiv again. A class above he is.

Yep, and when he got going he was equally destructive. Batted left, bowled right, both played for Notts. Father was a Test player. Bowling career started poorly. It's uncanny.

Mate I mostly saw Nasser pay against Australia tbf. So for the most part he was out before he did a lot of running
I once named a pedigree pup "Nasser Doubleton", they don't accept all names, but they accepted that one:)
