Apologies for not mentioning Denis Lindsay on the latest suggested list. Definitely worthy of a mention.

We've had 15 votes so far, but I'll wait a good 12 hours or so until the final slot is finalised.

Jager are you still keen to do the World C team? If not I don't mind at all running it.

Sure, I'd be glad to continue. I'll start the next one tomorrow around midday, and if not, sometime during the evening. Is that okay?

Yeah sounds good. I'll make sure I get around to calling this sometime in the late morning. If you don't mind including what batting order everyone wants for the World B team in your first up questions, that would be appreciated too.

Also, I've heard you say that you like making teams with 2 or sometimes 3 spinners. You aren't going to force us to pick that many are you? I don't have a problem with an attack featuring 2 spinners at all. But forcing us to have 3 is definitely excessive.

Of course not. Do you want me to follow your format exactly or can I modify it slightly for this round?

Cool, cool. Nah go ahead and modify it slightly. Its more fun changing it up a little each round.

Definitely, should be good. I just had a look at the simulated matches by aussie. He made all time teams for each test nation (Bangladesh and Zimbabwe excluded) and ran a tournament. Interestingly enough, Bradman scored 908 runs from 15 innings at an average of 60.53, with 4 centuries and 5 fiftes, so there is a chance the Bradman factor could be nullified. I am less certain about the top team winning now.

Also, if anyone wants me to look over the statistics for a specific player, I will give you a report on how he went in an ATG comparison.

Keith Miller
Matches: 8
Bat: 596 runs at 42.57
Bowl: 24 wickets at 29.79

He was used as a fifth bowler in almost every case, though.

Results: Les Ames finishes ahead of Clyde Walcott 9-5 (I believe) to claim the keeping spot. Its a toss up as to where he should bat in the order. I figure Miller played predominantly in the top 6, while Ames batted at 7 more than any other position throughout his career.

Alright, let's start on the World C team.

1. Do you disagree with the batting order of the World B lineup? If so, what changes should be made?
2. Select two opening bowlers.
3. Select a spinner.
4. Do you want this team to have 4 bowling options or 5 (most likely in the form of an all-rounder)?

In organizing the base of our bowling lineup at the beginning, I am hoping that it will give us more knowledge as to whether we should play a specialist batsman, genuine all-rounder or a Worrell-type fifth bowler at number 6, therefore giving us a more balanced team at the end.

Hmm, see, I think question 4 would depend on what the batting is like of the bowlers that we choose. Is it worth holding that question back till we see who gets selected as part of the first three bowlers?

I partially agree, it doesn't really need to be answered yet, but could help us find out what direction this team is going in.

Michael Holding

Fearsome pace, smooth run-up, smart and dangerous.

John Snow

Menacing, gave little away, provides a test for all batsmen that he'd come across.

It really is becoming a bit of preference now with these quicks, it's a toss-up between so many. Donald, Davidson and Statham stiff to miss out.

Jim Laker

The pre-eminent off-spinner before Murali, really, and although I harbour some concerns again in the lower order, relying on others' penchant for Davidson to give the lower order some strength. Thought about nominating Benaud, and have him combine with Davidson for a very strong lower order, but I think at this stage we firstly need to worry about getting the opposition out, and Laker provides that better than Benaud IMO.

I'm going to put my cards on the table.
Pace bowlers: Alan Davidson and Joel Garner
Spinner: Clarrie Grimmett
I went for absolute control here, Davidson's swing and Garner's bounce accuracy should compliment each other whilst giving nothing away. Grimmett can plot the demise of any batsman whilst one of the above starve them for runs.

1. No, I'm happy with it.
2. Alan Davidson and Allan Donald
3. Jim Laker
4. Definitely 5 bowling options. But the fifth could be someone like a Waugh or Worrell.
