To be honest, if Chelsea do go on a mad run and snatch 3rd if won't really matter if we finish 4th as all bets are off regarding them winning the CL final.

Guaranteed CL spot would be nice, but we haven't once yet failed to qualify when we've finished 4th.
Given their last 2 games it would be a pretty dreadfull effort if Arsenal didn't get 3rd.

Surely Spurs are going to beat someone at some point but you never know what the **** Blackburn are going to do.

Would not be at all surprised if QPR get something at Chelsea either.

Can't remember the last time I did that, must have been years ago. Shame really, guess it's one one of the downsides of spending so much time online and having content accessible through mobile phones etc...

Also, hope Arsenal sign Benayoun on a permanent basis. Don't think he has the ability to cement a regular first team place, but reckon he's an excellent squad player.

Oh Suarez.

EDIT: Broken record, but I love the 4-5-1 high tempo pass and move! Nom nom nom.

Good luck to QPR tonight.

Hmm, why is that? I always sort of assumed there was a fitness/discipline/attitude thing going on with Benayoun. None of your other wide players have shown anything like his footballing quality- Gervinho, Walcott, Arshavin etc. just aren't in the same class. But then he played even less at Chelsea, and the management at Liverpool didn't seem so keen on him either. I can't help but feel that he has some kind of deficiency that isn't generally mentioned.

FA approach Hodgson for the England manager job.

Spurs finally pull out a win to make the battle for the CL spots more interesting.

Huh. Wow. Assumed after his spell on Merseyside he'd pissed on his chips.

Guess King Kenny has added some posthumous gloss to Woy's record with the reds tho.

Rate him above Harry, ftr.
Me too, has International experience and has managed a big club, won't cost the FA an exorbitant amount of money either.

Wondered why 'arry was in ultra-excuse mode "down to the bare bones", "wasn't allowed to sign Tevez, Cahill, Messi, so had to sign injury-prone crap", "some players may want to leave the club sometime, soon, never appens anywhere else, woe is me".

Must have realised his dream payday, umm I mean job, was falling through.

To be honest I'm really not sure what it is which makes me feel that way. He's certainly done very well on the occasions he's been given an opportunity. But then again, outshining the likes of the above arguably isn't a fantastic achievement, because they've all had spells when they've been pretty rank. I think something just tells me he's a bit of a lightweight, doesn't have the X factor that the others you mentioned (whilst being poor, a great deal of the time) do. If I was asked to name a player in the Arsenal squad that could make a real game changing impact, I doubt I'd go for him, perhaps wrongly so. Willing to be won round on this of course, hope he proves me wrong, and I really hope we keep hold of him.

I remember when Hodgson was in charge of Switzerland he said he wouldn't dream of managing England. Interesting to see if he's changed his stance (nothing wrong with that) in the near two decades since as IMO the job has only been under even more scrutiny since then.

Excellent news this. Will now actually be able to properly extend good feeling to England and want them to do well this summer.

Edit: Providing he accepts the offer of course. Wouldn't it be hilarious if he refuses, and then the FA approach Harry?

In a sense it's the ideal time to take on the job, in this regard imo. I mean, unless he makes a quite exceptional clanger of the whole thing, he'll probably be able to enjoy much less pressure than any of the previous coaches in recent memory, given the circumstances under which he's come into the job.

Can see some sort of against the odds, heroic England scrap to the semi-final, in a sort of Bobby Robson vein. Only then for England to balls up in the WC qualifiers and him get sacked in circumstances similar to Turnip-Head.

International Coach
So long as the Baggies dont go for one of the trying and testing failures (Bruce, McCarthy etc) then I'll be very happy with that appointment.

Odds on them bringing back Appleton from Portsmouth might be long but worth a second look... Does Ole fancy a crack at the Prem before Fergie retires?? Maybe Guardiola can postpone his holiday....................

Hodgson would be lolbad. The guy simply doesn't have the resume to even be considered for one of the top jobs in football - even International football. If he wasn't English would he even be considered? From Capello to Hodgson - Lamborghini to Beetle.

Sorry, but that's quite poor, couldn't get to the end, so maybe there was a punchline. West Brom don't play long ball, and Woy has spent a long time on the continent so he probably knows more about forn players than most:huh:
With Liverpool it was almost all long ball. It was losing and playing **** to boot. And Woy's knowledge of foreign players really rests in Scandanavia. I recall some old articles going over his signings.

As someone who tends to appreciate England footballers and their team more than some Englanders I think this appointment would all but end their hopes.
