Yeah so our customary awesome streak to be interrupted by a customary hammering to a team we have no right to play so poorly against...need to secure that 4th spot to at least give us a chance of the Champs League.

I am not enjoying being a Newcastle supporter tonight... that being said, some great goals scored against us.

Fuming with the Arsenal result, not only because it cost me £80, but it puts huge pressure on us if Spuds win tonight. Now need to win both out remaining games I would suggest.
Seriously though, 10 minutes left, 1 each at the Brittania and we bring on Santos ffs.

Given the fact that it sounds like Arsenal were much the better team, I'd be inclined to agree, but if I had been offered a 1-1 before the match I would have easily taken it. Record against Stoke is poor etc... The fact that Newcastle lost should mean that this is actually a decent result. Spurs now have to win pretty much all of their remaining games (and they've got to play 3 teams involved in the relegation scrap) if they're to have a hope of finishing above us, and Arsenal need to win one of their remaining two matches to guarantee finishing above Newcastle. Barring an incredible Chelsea comeback 3rd place should be in the bag for Arsenal now, only have themselves to blame if they don't wrap it up from here. Should have had it sewn up already.

Can still see Chelsea picking up 4th place personally. Just seems to be the way it works over the last 5-10 years. Teams are in a seemingly great position to finish above one of the big sides and fall over themselves to mess it up. As Spuds have done repeatedly.

To be honest, if Chelsea do go on a mad run and snatch 3rd if won't really matter if we finish 4th as all bets are off regarding them winning the CL final.

Guaranteed CL spot would be nice, but we haven't once yet failed to qualify when we've finished 4th.

Ran it pretty fine last year to be honest. If Chesney hadn't saved the Udinese penalty in the second leg of the playoff it could have turned out pretty badly imo.

Worst thing though, is that a failure to qualify for the Champions League automatically means that the transfer dealings throughout the summer get all screwed up. Was pretty clear that last year had Arsenal already qualified for the CL they'd have made all of their signings a lot earlier than they did, rather than all the targets waiting around and seeing what was going to happen before they signed on. Could do without that happening again.

Be handy if wpd's chaps could beat Cardiff & Boro take advantage to remove the possibility of them making the Prem via the play-offs too.
Never gonna happen. We've been dreadful for the last couple of months, and if the season lasted a month longer we'd be going down. Freedman has some serious work to do over the summer.

If only Suarez could finish like that every week. Every single goal was phenomenal.

Thought he was okay, IIRC. Tbh though we've loaned so many players these past three years then apart from the really awful or really good they tend to blur into one.
