John Barnes is coming to the uni soon as part of an open debate on racism, homophobia and ***ism in football. Am thinking of going along to point out that the problems are perpetuated by the 'old boys club' attitude towards football job appointments, especially at the highest level. Then I can use Barnes as an example of a pundit and manager that everyone knows is a total idiot but keeps getting gigs at Tranmere, ESPN and Channel 5 anyway.

Not sure why Pothas is bringing up the top two English sides, I've been saying the League is ****e this year. Yet still the 6th best team beat Barca, despite playing with 10 men for a quarter of the tie. Admittedly Barca were the better side though, but as many say it's a game of taking chances, not possession stats.

It's two games, it proves next to nothing in both cases. Especially when Bayern are a top side themselves, and there was an El Clasico in between.

Yeah and the side that is 6th in Spain destroyed Man Utd over tow legs. As I said cup football means strange **** happens from time to time.

So Guardiola is leaving Barcelona and wants a break.

Which English club will attempt to get him in a years time then?

Would be an ideal man to take over from Fergie at United, would play the great football that Abramovich desires at Chelsea and would be perfect for City as well.

Well, thanks Pothas, I've already said Man U are rubbish. So I'll repeat for you and Halsey they could well be the two best teams, my contention is there isn't much in it. Also Real have proven nowt in the Champions League, haven't reached a final in a decade, so I would be quite happy to call Bayern better, but I don't care that much.

Teams all over seem to have forgotten how to defend, I'm sure Barca and Real Madrid will counter these disappointing Champions League performances, by buying another couple of attacking players each.

Hope Barcelona don't go for Bielsa, really want to see how far he can take this Bibao side but fear money will mean that the side gets split up anyway.

D-Day for that footballing misnomer, The Championship.

Logic suggests Saints. Realistically only need a draw against the doomed Cov, unless yer Irons win by four.

Be handy if wpd's chaps could beat Cardiff & Boro take advantage to remove the possibility of them making the Prem via the play-offs too.

Must admit I'm still backing West Ham; ****s in charge notwithstanding they are a proper football club.

Ah feck Newcastle one down now too, away to Wigan. Would be kinda hilarious if Newcastle pinched 3rd and the Chavs won the CL.
