Oh ****ing hell Hampshire, new division but it's just exactly the same as last year. This is bloody Glamorgan! Vince getting out for 28 just when I began to hope he might win us the game, standard.

Going to have to readjust my support to the we are **** but let's hope we now and again like it was in the late 90s.

Hundred partnership. Looks like we're right back on top but it's the time Bopara's innings cost us that's going to prove the real kicker.

Speaking of which, this may not really be the time or the place for Sayers from here on. Need to kick on in the last hour.

Pretty special effort from Notts, managed to get zero bonus points in a match where their opponents have managed the maximum.

Durham ending up with a slightly pitiful first innings lead of 50, thanks to some last wicket hitting. Oh well, at least we're not ****ing up the national team by making Ravi Bopara look like a genius.

Samit having a shocker on the same day his closest rival for the number 6 slot hits 58% of his team's runs. Admittedly its a shocker with the ball but it can hardly help his cause.

Edit: I thought maximum batting points were reached at 400?

Yep 400 (within the 110 overs) is the maximum. They just went on so Compton could get a double I imagine. Glad Notts didn't get a bonus point for a third wicket - I think it's bollocks you should a bonus point for 3 wickets in 110 overs anyway. Should be at 5, 7 and 9 wickets.

Hildreth stocking up on the easy runs once again!

I really do like the look of Keith Barker. Continues to improve. Don't know if he'll end up just a decent county pro or something better but he's been excellent since he started playing consistently in first class cricket.

Ohh and I wanted to say I was glad Mills was playing for Essex over Willougby. Willoughby might have been the better bet at this time in the season but it's good to see a young, quick left handed englishman getting plenty of exposure and doing well.

meh, was a good innings for us, scored at a very good rate, which is why he should play ODIs imo.

Ah. I thought it was 120 overs.

In that case why didn't they declare on 400. Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow!
Partly to give Compton a double-ton, and party because they were going at 10 an over by the end. Those runs were many orders of magnitude easier to score than 4th innings runs would be, but are worth the same. They're aiming not to bat again, that's what'll save the most time.

Ok they may be partially forgiven if they win tomorrow but this is still a match we should be winning easily after the situation at the end of day 1.

Onions castles Strauss again.
Both good and bad for England.

Great to see Onions back and firing tho. Awful lot of time for the boy; future commentating great when he gives it away.

Meanwhile: Compton. Must be close to a limited overs shot for England at the very least? IIRC his List A average is 40+.

Onions gets close to the stumps and swings it at good pace. I think that makes him potentially an excellent Test wicket taker in the modern era.

I know he averages over 100 for Mash Eagles in one day cricket so that might inflate it a bit but I think he only played a handful of games for them so his county OD record would still be pretty good I imagine.
