So, what will be the general reaction when (and if) smali announces Bradman @ no. 2?

People will claim that is the only inappropriate result in the whole list because of strategic voting, and Bradman is the only cricketer in the whole list (and outside) to be affected by strategic voting. They'll also claim that if you just inter-change Bradman and Sobers in the list, it'll be a 100% accurate representation of what CW thinks
I will look for a scape goat. Mainly posters who only follow IPL matches.

It will discredit the entire list, IMO. Not because I think Bradman must be ahead of Sobers in any valid ranking of cricketers (in fact I'm probably the last person to push that barrow), but because I don't believe for a second that the collective CricketWeb opinion is such. If it happens it'll merely show that the amount of people who didn't take it completely seriously was large enough to significantly skew the results. And I say this as someone who did take it completely seriously and did not have Bradman at #1.

Wouldn't care so much. I would disagree, but my main worry was if Imran or Sachin beat him to it.

TBF, I don't really find it unreasonable to have Sobers above Bradman. I wouldn't personally, but I can certainly see why people would.

Nah. Thing is, this forum went to the gutter last year. And I hold my hand up for the part I played in that. But you and a very small minority of others seem intent on dragging the place back there by trying to reopen old wounds. It's ****ing dire.

This has been great, but I don't really care anymore if Bradman or Sobers are # 1 or #2, as this has really dragged on...post it already ;)
