Is the pitch really that tricky already? Lots of starts.

Pulling long hops down square leg's throat doesn't help  wtf pup, that's your vc's job

They were 0-45 or so after 11 overs when I went to bed. Thank goodness I didn't hang around for the rest. :O

How bad were the Indian bowlers to allow Ponting to score big against them. He's back to his poor scores and from the handful of deliveries he faced before lunch, Ponting seemed to be back to his old habits of not being balanced correctly. I was hoping that he would rectify things after lunch, but no.

my main problem wasn't so much the Indian bowlers, but the Indian team that applied no pressure on him once he got past 15. And my main problem with Ponting was not going on with starts. So I really wasn't sure how to take Ponting's 'return'.

I went to sleep at lunch, glad about that given the slowness of the day.

Let's not get carried away as so far this series, Ponting has been:

a. run out by Watto

b. bowled by a grubber; and

c. got a good ball from Roach

Yeah but everyone had to grind away pretty hard to get them (from what I saw anyway). I just gathered from the difficulty blokes were having hitting through the ball that it might have been a bit two-paced.

Calls for Ponting to go are way premature after the summer he had here tbh. He got burned first dig in Barbados (batting conditions at their best) and they were chasing quick runs in the second dig. I didn't see him get out last night so I can't comment. His knock before lunch was scratchy, but then so was everyone else's tbh. Mind you, I wasn't looking to see if he'd fallen back into the habit of falling over at the crease again.

Don't know what to make of that day. It looks substandard from our POV but no one seemed in on the wicket.

If they jag 300 I suspect they might be happy with that.
Reckon they'd be delighted with 300

This is not a very good pitch at all and is only going to get worse

Yeah I wasn't saying it wasn't tricky, the opposite. Looks like the sort of track where you're never really in.
